Rovio, the Finland-based company which created the game, has been making the rounds at Hollywood studios over the past few weeks. The game allows users to control a slingshot to take out a group of pigs who have been stealing the Angry Birds' eggs. The company has already tested out the game's characters in an animated format with a trailer that already has 5.6 million views since it went live in February. You can watch that trailer below:
It was said that Rovio is looking to expand into long-form cartoons on either TV or the silver screen, and the site also reports that they are favoring a claymation format like that used in Aardman Animation projects. The key is to make sure the game is still relevant up until these potential film or TV projects are released. Rovio plans to launch sequels to the game and expand it to Android, Blackberry and Palm in the next few months. They are also considering expansion to the handheld video game market like Nintendo's DS, Sony's PSP and console game systems such as Playstation 3.
