Andy Rooney passes away at age 92
"It's a sad day at 60 Minutes and for everybody here at CBS News. It's hard to imagine not having Andy around. He loved his life and he lived it on his own terms. We will miss him very much."
Andy Rooney announced on October 2 that he will no longer regularly appear on 60 Minutes. Andy Rooney spent more than 60 years at CBS, and was best known for his essays on 60 Minutes, a regular feature on the show since 1978.
60 Minutes will end its Sunday night episode with a tribute to Andy Rooney by Morley Safer.

Do not grieve at the passing of mortality, for life's but a thing of terrible gravity. And the planets gravitate around you, and the stars shall dance about you, and the angels in heaven adore you,and the saints all stand and applaud you. So faraway, so faraway and yet so close.
