Andy and Lana Wachowski directing Jupiter Ascending for Warner Bros.
The story line is being kept under tight wraps, but the project is said to bring Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski back to their sci-fi roots. The Wachowski's came up with the original idea and will write the screenplay.
The directors and studio are currently mulling over which A-list actor to pitch the project to. It isn't known when Cloud Atlas will wrap production, although it is said Jupiter Ascending is being targeted to start production as early as spring 2012.
It is also said that Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski's Cobalt Neutral 9 isn't moving forward, since they couldn't secure financing. The story centers on the relationship between a gay U.S. soldier and an Iraqi citizen.

@shuabert I enjoyed the cartoons too, but the movie, not so much. It did however had some interesting transition editing.

@dan1 - Ha! AGREED!!!!! That sounded absolutely terrible. It would have been a huge financial failure which would have put even more of a damper on the current Wachowski status (which has seen better days)....which is not what they need after films like Speed Racer. I'm glad they are making the right choice by getting back to a balls-to-the-walls sci-fi flick, which they have proved they can be good at.
Add it to the list of potentially awesome movies to come out in 2013 (most likely).
I'll tell you what, we are in for two VERY good years with 2012 and 2013! I dont know which year is going to be better, anymore!
