Andrew Gurland and Huck Botko set up Wheels at Columbia Pictures
Earlier this year, Gurland and Botko wrote and produced the Lionsgate hit The Last Exorcism. They also wrote and directed The Virginity Hit, also produced by Gary Sanchez and Principato-Young, for Columbia Pictures. Gurland and Botko specialize in low-budget films that appeal to broad audiences and Wheels will follow that model.
In addition to their work on The Virginity Hit and The Last Exorcism, Andrew Gurland and Huck Botko also wrote and directed the independent feature Mail Order Wife (2004), voted by FunnyOrDie.com as one of the "fourteen movies you should see before you die." Gurland also co-directed the controversial documentary Frat House, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival (1998). For television, they created a pilot for FX, titled Human Animals. The team is currently writing and directing Fun House at Universal Pictures, with Strike Entertainment and Eli Roth producing.
