Adam McKay reveals Ron Burgundy could return for Anchorman 2
"It did, it made a difference. Paramount heard it. Adam Goodman, the President of Paramount, was on the first one so he loves it and when that outcry came, he was kind of excited because he knew it could maybe push it towards happening. That having been said, I'm clearly going into it like another movie so if it does happen it's still two years away or a ways away. And I haven't talked to anyone. There's nothing happening right now but it helped, it helped."
While the film clearly isn't in development at this time, the overwhelming support for the sequel is surely not falling on deaf ears. We'll continue to keep you posted with any further news regarding Anchorman 2 as soon as more information comes in.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell. The film is directed by Adam McKay.

I love how the article says "the film clearly isn't in development" in the second paragraph and then the very next paragraph starts with "Anchorman 2 is in development"...So which is it, movieweb? Is it in development or not?

Elf and Talladega Nights are my favorite Will Ferrel movies. The rest are meh. School of Rock was a lot better then I expected, Black actually had some acting chops there and worked great with kids.

Careful there, I like Jack Black but he does have his moments. Some people shouldn't be in comedies and yet they are. I've only enjoyed School of Rock and King Kong with Jack, I liked Will in Elf any other film... no.

yeah cuz this is what the world needs. i'd love to know where all this 'fan outrage' came from. i havent seen anyone thats begging the gods for a sequel to this godawful movie.
and i agree with todd below.....will isn't funny to begin with. he plays the EXACT same character in every movie, just in different costumes. he basically plays an adult child that goes into a screaming fit every ten minutes of every movie. worst actor ever. him and jack black should get together and make the 'we play the same character in every movie' movie.
the only good movies ferrel has ever made are A NIGHT AT THE ROXBURY and OLD SCHOOL.
screw this movie and it's sequel.
