Both Amy Ryan and Greg Kinnear have joined the cast of Paul Greengrass' upcoming war drama Imperial Life in the Emerald City. According to Variety, Matt Damon is headlining the project.

The film was inspired by Rajiv Chandrasekaran's nonfiction novel Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone. The narrative has been turned into a fictional thriller set in Bahgdad's Green Zone. Damon is set to play a commanding officer in search of weapons of mass destruction. Ryan will be playing a New York Times foreign correspondent sent to Iraq to investigate the Government's claims of WMDs. Kinnear will play a CIA officer.

The film begins shooting today in Spain.
