Amy Redford will make her feature directorial debut on the indie drama, The Guitar; she will also produce.

Written by Amos Poe, the film focuses on the transformation of a woman after she is diagnosed with terminal cancer, fired from her thankless job and abandoned by her boyfriend. According to Variety, after she is given two months to live, she blows her savings and maxes out her credit cards to pursue her dreams, which include romance and learning to play the electric guitar.

Saffron Burrows, Isaach de Bankole and Paz de la Huerta will star in The Guitar; production is already underway in New York.
