Amy Adams Joins The Fighter
According to Variety, Adams would play a gritty bartender from Massachusetts who ends up dating Wahlberg's character, "Irish" Mickey Ward.
The film tells the story of Ward's early days on the rough streets of Lowell, Mass., and how he was helped to the world lightweight championship by his half-brother, portrayed by Bale. Melissa Leo's also been cast.
The Fighter stars production this summer.
The Fighter was released December 10th, 2010 and stars Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams, Melissa Leo, Dendrie Taylor, Jack McGee, Jenna Lamia, Bianca Hunter. The film is directed by David O. Russell.

Sounds great - hope they can finish it. Somehow that seems like a major uphill battle with two of Hollywood's most volatile personalities (David O. Russell - who had several falling outs with Three Kings cast, and Christian Bale... hopefully Russell keeps the extra and crew out of his shot). lol we'll see what happens - this project sounds good!!!
