Amy Adams has signed on to Underdog for Disney and Spyglass Entertainment.

Jason Lee and Peter Dinklage are already part of the cast that will focus on the early life of the superhero animal. Variety reports Amy will play female lead in the live action/CGI hybrid version of the TV cartoon.

Frederik Du Chau is directing Underdog which is already in the middle of production; a 2007 release has been set.

Underdog was released August 3rd, 2007 and stars Jason Lee, Peter Dinklage, James Belushi, Patrick Warburton, Alex Neuberger, Taylor Momsen, John Slattery, Amy Adams. The film is directed by Frederik Du Chau.
