American Psycho remake moves forward at Lionsgate
The original American Psycho starred Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, an affluent investment banker in the 1980s, who moonlights as a serial killer. Noble Jones pitched a new take to the studio, which explores how Patrick Bateman adapts to New York City in the 21st Century. The original American Psycho is adapted from Bret Easton Ellis' novel of the same name.
The remake has not been given the green light by Lionsgate yet, and is still in the early stages of development.
Noble Jones, a protege of director David Fincher, has directed several commercials and music videos. He also served as a second unit director on David Fincher's The Social Network.
American Psycho was released April 14th, 2000 and stars Christian Bale, Justin Theroux, Josh Lucas, Bill Sage, Chloë Sevigny, Reese Witherspoon, Samantha Mathis, Matt Ross. The film is directed by Mary Harron.

you have to admit that american psycho could of been a gory tale but mary harron wanted to make a suspenseful an even a funny dark comedy version of american psycho . i do agree that patrick bateman must be played by christian bale. instead of doing a remake i would continue the story where patrick kills people in the 90s and explore the culture of the 90s. i think the remake would only be good if they add the gory parts from the book.

If they remake this, they better cast Bale again....considering he's still at the age to play the part and IS THE ONLY BATEMAN I KNOW!

As much as I wasn't a huge fan of how the film actually LOOKS like it was filmed in the 80s (they used 80s cameras and everything just to give it that authentic 80s movie feel), I would have preferred they'd used 2000's cameras while still keeping it in the 80s.
But a remake is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. Seriously, I mean I can understand a "Clash of the Titans" remake, or even "Fright Night" (which was actually way better than the crappy original), but this is total bullsh*t. The worst part is that there's actually people out there with talent trying to make new things and coming up with great new ideas (just check out some incredibly well produced YouTube videos) or even videogame adaptations like Halo or Half-Life waiting to be turned into amazing films and Hollywood doesn't give a f*ck anymore, they just wanna profit out what they've already done.
F*ck you Hollywood, and f*ck your sh*tty Transformers movies too!

It's one thing to remake something as great as American Psycho, but to put Lionsgate in charge!?!?! That sh*tfest of a place!? The only thing good to come from Lionsgate is Weeds and that's not even consistent!
