Hilary Swank plays Amelia Earhart, a noted American aviation pioneer, author and women's rights advocate who disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island during an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937. Also starring in Mira Nair's upcoming biopic Amelia are Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Virgina Madsen, and Christopher Eccleston.
