According to their sources, 20th Century Fox has been pursuing the trio as replacements for the parts of Mr. Fantastic and Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, who were previously portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd and Jessica Alba, respectively.
Alice Eve has also been rumored for the role of Sue Storm.
ComicBookMovie also adds that relatively unknown actor Kevin Pennington is being eyed for the role of Johnny Storm/Human Torch, portrayed by Chris Evans in the original Fantastic Four.
Fantastic Four comes to theaters March 6th, 2015. The film is directed by Josh Trank.

I enjoyed the first two films, and I accepted them for what they are.
As of rebooting this - I have no opinion on it. I say let them, maybe it might be better in the long run or it might not.
As an ex-comic book fan, I find it better when I don't read those comics.
I grew up reading Batman, Spiderman and everyone else. The reason I stopped reading comic's is because, the films are slightly different. I'm not a big fan of FF but I did enjoy the two films, I have a lot of guilty pleasure films but that's just me.

See just within our own conversation point is somewhat proven. You are obviously a comic fan and I am not. You being a comic, wants to see this but I on the other hand of do not, give me something else something they haven't already made. Fantastic Four has flat characters with not so super powers. The only character with any personality is the human torch.
You are passionate about comics and a love that but I just don't see a need in rebooting this, not this soon at least. Yes, the movies weren't that great but they made money off of it and now they can just make more by giving us the same story with just a different polish and I for one just don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I'll change my mind on the subject if I can get solid reason for the reboot but so far I haven't heard one.

Dude, The Fantastic Four is not B-List. As far as no one liking the comic, over 580 issues proves that statement false. The Fantastic Four movies, on the other hand, were just unlikeable. I felt really angry at paying full price for a 90 minute sequel. I have to disagree with your next to last sentence, because Iron Man was not a household name outside of comic fans, and yet the movie brought in big bucks. These comic book movies, like all movies, need a good story, and believable characters to succeed. Iron Man, TDK, and the first two Spider-Man movies possessed those qualities; Fantastic Four did not. Another point to bring up is Dr. Doom. Even if you believe the heroes are B-list, he most certainly is not, and by himself, could be worth admission. Hell, I'd be up for a Dr. Doom movie without the Fantastic Four.

I don't know ejk1 it just seems half-assed to me. Maybe one out like 20 movies warrants a reboot and it should also come years if not a couple of decades down the road. The Fantastic Four didn't do well because honestly, I can't think of one person loves the comic. The characters are boring and flat. This doesn't need a re-boot. I see a decline in comic book movies because all the big hitters have come up and be made into movies. Now they are pulling out their B-list and it's going to end in tears because no-one outside of the true comic fan will go to see the movies because Spider-man, X-men and Batman are all house hold names. Perhaps I'm wrong but I don't care to see a b- list comic hero.

I like Brody as an actor, but I haven't seen him in enough to determine if he could play Richards. As for Heard, I don't know who she is, but I have a problem with them focusing only on looking for Sue Storm in attractive women alone. I feel that in order to do a good justice to Storm's character, they need someone who can act first, and a pretty face second.

Absolutely agree with you on Hollywood needing to make better movies, Messenger. However, nothing is ever 100%, and even if those in charge tried harder, there would still be clunkers coming from Hollywood. Now if someone says of those clunkers, "I can and want to do that better," then I say let them. If they can improve upon garbage, then we as an audience should show our approval. I agree that Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 were excellent, but Spider-Man 3 was just awful, and the fourth sounded ridiculous(Vultress? Really?) As for X-Men, the second one was the only one I truly liked, so a reboot(that is not coming, by the way) would be something I look forward to. One also has to take differing tastes into account. Someone may want to see a reboot or remake because they hated the first try, even if others found it pleasing. Let's face it, my friend, no one can please all the people all of the time. Not even Hollywood.

I have to strongly disagree. It's time that Hollywood stop pumping out half assed movies and make them right from the get go. Don't worry as much about the profit and concentrate on making a GOOD movie. None of this "oh, we screwed up on this movie that made us a massive profit so let's make it again and make even more money!" And the sad thing is, we as movie goers are just as much to blame because support this. My prime example, Spider-man. Were they the end-all-be-all of movie, no but they were in their own right and do they do not need a reboot.

I just think that the Fantastic Four does not generate enough interest with the movie goers to be successful in hollywood... same with the Hulk. What the first Hulk lacked, the second one made up for in a big way and people still did not want to accept it, so there is no reason to waste the money on another FF movie because it will fail.

@Messenger, we should accept the reboots, especially if the first try was lousy.

There should be no do-overs in Hollywood cause that just shows to them that we, as movie goers, will accept the reboots. If you are going to do something, do it right.

I agree with The Fallen. You can say that there are "more than enough Marvel characters," but remember that many of the best characters are the villains. And in fact, there are many more villains than heroes. Look at Spider-Man. Even if you include the occasional guest hero, it's still pretty stacked against him. There's Green Goblin, Venom, Lizard, Doc Ock, Carnage, Mysterio, Electro, Rhino, Sandman, and Hobgoblin. I just named ten, and there's more.
I would like to see a movie about Marvel's cosmic level. A movie about Norrin Radd's transformation into Silver Surfer. That would be awesome. Zenn-La would be stunning, and to actually see Galactus would be nice. This movie could lead to an appearance by Thanos, although it does look like Marvel will be using him because of the Infinity Gauntlet, but that movie really does belong to a series with the Surfer.

Not as much as you think... I mean sure, there are hundreds of em, but ones that have a big enough fan base, and have a strong enough foothold in pop-culture? No, there's not too much options. Which is why this franchise NEEDS a reboot. Just not from Fox.

To re-itterate my previous statements on re-boots. Leave the good movies alone. There's no need to re-boot a franchise that was good. Batman needed one and even Superman needed one for obvious reasons, but c'mon. There are more than enough marvel characters to choose from to do something new.

@Insert, I have been suggesting to my friends that the Skrulls could have an interesting part to play in the FF. After all, from my understanding, the FF have been far more involved in Skrull activity than the Avengers or anyone else pre-Secret Invasion. It would also make for an outstanding story, not knowing if your wife/brother/best friend were the enemy or not, which as you keep saying, would only build upon and test the family like team. Which is why I'd prefer if they stayed in the FF world.
Overall ,I just re-read "The Ultimates" collections I have, and I am so bummed that Marvel doesn't hold the rights to all its characters. I mean they fit together so easily and perfectly in the Ultimate world, and could have opened the doors to a full on invasion like movie or something. Still, I can't complain too much.
Right now, I am far more interested in who will actually direct this hopeful franchise saver.

I'd like to see Annihilus as the villain in the first movie. That way, the N-Zone would be able to be a factor in the team's origin right out of the gate. Dr. Doom can be built up for a sequel, and I actually want to see a badass, dictatorial, cunning Doom, not, as I stated, Electro in a green rain jacket. I wanna see more of Latveria. For a third movie, then maybe Galactus can be done right. I'd say the Skrulls could be introduced, but if they ever make it to be big screen, they'd probably be better suited for an Avengers movie.

@Cyn, that's okay. Not everyone has to be a comic book reader. To be honest, I'm not that big of a Fantastic Four fan. But I know Galactus- he's an important entity in the Marvel universe. The way he was portrayed in this movie was weak, and I just hope that, if he ever makes an appearance on-screen again, that he is given the appropriate treatment.

I don't like Adrian Brody as Reed Richards. What about Jon Hamm as Mr. Fantastic. Chris Pine should play the Human Torch and Alice Eve needs to be the invisible women. The Thing is interesting one, Vin Disel might do a good job.
