The space jockeys get their due in Ridley Scott's Alien Prequel
The supposed plot centers around a friendly group of beings known as "Growers", whom fans will recognize from the original Alien as "space jockeys". This intergalactic group is traveling from civilization to civilization, looking for planets to cultivate and "terraform". They use mind-control to enslave the various different species of whatever planet they're on, and they seem to pose no clue about humanity. One example given from the script details this fact, with the asexual "Growers" forcing two male slaves named Fin and Karik to breed, unaware that there are heterosexual life forms throughout the galaxy. Though, it is unclear how homosexual slave love will be represented in a PG-13 rated movie.
The signature "aliens" of the title don't appear until the second half of the script. The "Growers" have been using these aliens as biological tools in the terraforming process. And they transform and grow into what we're accustomed to seeing in the past sequels as the plot progresses. There will also be new and different alien creatures showcased throughout the prequel. Other characters besides the male slaves Fin and Karik include a spaceship crew featuring an African-American female name Oliver who is reminiscent of Aliens' Vasquez, and a female marine named Turks, a role that is rumored to have been offered to Gemma Arterton.
What's Playing also hints that Ridley Scott has an offer out to Lance Henriksen, but it is unclear if he will be reprising his role as Charles Bishop Weyland.
The validity of What's Playing's script details only comes from the fact that 20th Century Fox "supposedly " asked them to remove their story after it was published. We do not know at this time if what they have stated is accurate, or if any of these story details will eventually wind up in the finished film.
Prometheus comes to theaters June 8th, 2012 and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

Small girl who survives an attack on her family...... check.

Mention of gas grenades........check.
A Queen that escapes the destruction.....check.
And best of all Acid from both antagonists in both films...........check.
I bet Cameron has a copy on his DVD shelf.

Err
i'll agree with CYN on the rainy day comment, the fight scenes in the first avp were pretty enjoyable,
and avp2 if you ignore all the infuriating teeny bopper bullsh*t had some good moments too, plus it starred the funnyguy from "rescue me" of whom i am sort of a fan.
still though, like most of you (i assume) when i think of avp2 the first thing that comes to mind is that teeny storyline and i immediately start vomiting on my shirt.

I want to believe that this is fake, although I kind of like it's "wierdness".
I've been reading all your comments. I agree with some, partly agree with others but only TOTALLY disagree with the PG-13 believers.
My point is: What is one of the best and most memorable scenes in all cinema history, EVER? That's right, the Chestbuster exploding out of Kanes chest... I rest my case...

@incmob - we don't want to "get over it". We're opining on a beloved movie franchise....get over it.

The Narrator: The Better Man
@Incomb, Die Hard didn't have too many bloody killings. It's main problem (or plus IMO) was McCaine's wise mouth and the profanities that spurted out of it. Live Free or Die Hard was a great installment, and again didn't feel watered down, as you said. Still the unrated version is better, and fans agree. :)
Now, The Alien franchise has already proven that without blood and profanity, it lacks realism. Proven? Yea, it was proven in the first AVP which no one took seriously. Same would happen in this series.
Good point about Cameron going in a different direction thou.

most of you complaining about the rating... should get over it. die hard started with an R, and i didnt feel live free or die hard was watered down except maybe the language, and i thought it was a really good entry in the die hard series... granted i know this is sci/fi horror, but again, the alien films became the typical gore is more mentality, where as the first alien besides the dinner table scene was not gory, it relied on scares and didnt show most of the casts deaths either. so with that i feel they can pull it off, i know they want to capture the teen market too, but i dont see that this cant be done with a pg-13 rating...
as far as the story goes, i like it, it deviates from what we expect from an alien film which is exactly what james cameron did as well.

Ridley Scott is a good director, obviously but he has had some misfires in his time and Robin Hood is only the most recent. GI Jane? White Squall? 1492: Conquest of Paradise (WTF was that?). No doubt the man is a genius with many brilliant movies but even great directors get bogged down by greedy studio execs and diva movie stars. I want to love this movie before its even made. I feel like i am setting myself up for disapointment.

With a plot like this they might as well add some Predators in there too.

The Narrator: The Better Man
@artkid has a fantastic point. They released Predators with an R rating. And that was with Rodriguez. Now Ridley f*cking Scott is asking for a bigger budget and they say it has to be PG-13? Damn.

@chaldonick... this is a prequel, not a remake. Being done by the guy who started it all.

I'm not sure how you can take a great series that started with the original movie rated R, and then water it down so much that it's likely we'll see a PG rating.
They really are just making films for the youngest possible audience members these days, aren't they?
It's almost blasphemy.

Once again, pg13 will drain all that this film could have been and become a flop. With that said, if this is the plot,,,,, it seams to suck......

This "plot details" are fake for sure...but already known problem of this Alien prequel is PG-13 rating which is 100% known already. I don't even like the idea of story that tells how were Xenomorphes made. As I remember I think I saw in previous news about the plot that Xenomorphes are made in some kind of laborotory as bio-weapon. Why can't they be just advanced parasite lifeforms from another planet? Well ok...I suppose that with these prequels it will be explained why is Company so interested in Xenomorphes at the begining. Guess will see...

As long as the film holds it's own with all the previous ones, I'm good but still feel an R rating is the best way to go. Unfortunately the studio wants to get maximum capacity to rake in the big bucks and that comes with the lowered PG-13 rating!

And here's the real question for all you alien fans:
What would you rather have: An R-rated Alien films with this unfortunate "homosexual slave love" or a PG-13 Alien film without it?????
Tough decision, but I honestly think I would rather take *one stupid gay scene* with a deserved R-rating over a watered down 2 part suck fest.
......Or they could just give the fans what they really want, which is an all straight, R-rated, hardcore, scary as sh*t, kick-ass alien film. Best of both worlds!
Just put me on the board of FOX and I'll knock some sense into those f*cking idiots!!!
