Adult Swim Orders 40 Episodes of Robot Chicken
This will bring the show into a fifth and sixth season.
The stop-motion animation/comedy series is the highest-rated original program for Adult Swim.
Robot Chicken was created by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. They are also executive producers on the show.
"It's kind of amazing," Green said about the renewal. "We never expected to do a second season, let alone a fifth and sixth. We're really busy, but we're still having a lot of fun making it."
The show has nabbed two consecutive Emmy nominations for outstanding animated program. Green scored a nod for outstanding voice-over performance. Robot Chicken has also won four Annie Awards.
Robot Chicken, which initially aired in February 2005, has made Adult Swim a popular viewing spot for young men.
Green and Senreich write the series with head writers Tom Root and Douglas Goldstein and their staff. They also direct the show with Chris McKay.
