ABC has given the green light to the drama, Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

The pilot will pick up six months after the 2005 Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt film; the Smiths bought a new house in a new suburb and have re-established their businesses as rival assassins, but the attraction and sexual spark they had found at movie's end has dwindled. The Hollywood Reporter adds they are back dealing with marital issues.

Simon Kinsberg is writing the script for the pilot, based on his own film screenplay; Doug Liman will also direct the pilot and executive produce with Kinberg. ABC hasn't announced a spot in the line-up for Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith was released June 10th, 2005 and stars Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Vince Vaughn, Adam Brody, Kerry Washington, Keith David, Chris Weitz, Rachael Huntley. The film is directed by Doug Liman.
