ABC Picks Up V Pilot

ABC is revisiting an 80s classic mini-series for its new series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has given the green light for the pilot V, a remake of the classic 1984 mini-series, V that dealt with an alien invasion on Earth.

The 4400 co-creator Scott Peters wrote the project on spec, which will center on a female Homeland Security agent. Peters will executive produce the project as well, alongside Jason Hall.

No production schedule was given for the new series.

    i picked up the complete series dvd of 4400 and thought it was great. this guy could probably pull a decent V out of his ass.

    I'm kinda on the fence with the tv remakes of classic shows. I mean they can be good(the new Battlestar galactica) or they could be Knight Rider.

    this could be a great thing, after revisiting beloved childhood memories, such as voltron, krull, V, among many others, i feel that some things deserve to be remade or reimagined. Although V, was the birth to films of the like such as independance day, it did have a great set up, but today it is very much dated, and the acting was less than inspiring. i think with the effects of today, a great story to build on the original premise and give it a darker approach with some humor mixed in it could be a great show. only time will tell.
