ABC Lands a New V
According to Variety, the original V served as an allegory for the Holocaust and Nazi Germany. Peters said he won't duplicate that concept, except that the new V will still focus on what happens when the masses have blind faith in their leaders.
In this case, the new V will center on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son who's got problems. When the aliens arrive, her son gloms on to them - causing tension within the family. As in the original V, several storylines will unfold simultaneously.
But even without the same storyline, the original V's bones will remain: As in the '80s version, the show will open with an enormous army of spaceships hovering over the world's major cities. The visitors say they've come to help Earth, but their motives are nefarious (in the original, they wanted to steal the world's water supply).

I LOVED the V mini-series and main series when I was a kid. Robert Englund played one of the aliens (known as The Visitors) named "Willie". Marc Singer, from that movie Beastmaster, was one of the main characters.

Err
i loved it as a kid, but by today's standards its definitely not as impressive as it was in the 80's.
i wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see it, but if its on tv then check it out if you don't have anything else to do.

OH.... MY.... F*CKING.... LORD!!!
V is the most underrated T.V series from the 80's. A f*cking kick ass show! really excited about this.

V for Vendetta is much different than V.
V is a sci-fi show where lizard men disguised as humans takes over the world. The actor that did Nightmare on Elm Street was one of the leading stars.

Sounds good. At last they're trying to keep the franchise fresh.
I just wish someone would do a new LOST IN SPACE tv show.

What's with all the alien shows all of a sudden? Wasn't it ABC that announced the new sci-fi series "The Return" just a few weeks ago?
Still, I think between the two, I'd be more inclined to watch this one.

Could be good, hopefully with the same quality of 'Battlestar Galactica.' I've got high hopes on this one even though Kenneth Johnson isn't involved. I didn't care too much for the "V: The Second Generation" book. Seemed a bit too corny....
