MTV News caught up with Australian actress Rose Byrne (Sunshine) and asked if she had been contacted about the roll as a Bond Girl in the upcoming Bond 22. Byrne's name was previously mentioned for Casino Royale).

Byrne denied any involvement in the upcoming 007 film, but exclaimed "I think Abbie Cornish's got it."

According to MTV, while Cornish -- a fellow Australian -- has been rumored for the part since earlier this year, Byrne's utterance lends extra credence to the story given the pair's friendship. If true, Cornish's appearance in Bond 22 would mark the star's first major break outside her home country, where she has made numerous acclaimed appearances in Australian television and film.

Bond 22 starring Daniel Craig will be released on November 7th, 2008.

Quantum of Solace was released November 14th, 2008 and stars Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Giancarlo Giannini, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright, David Harbour. The film is directed by Marc Forster.
