Aaron Stanford and Kristen Stewart have joined the cast been cast in the indie drama, The Cake Eaters.

The film will be directed by Mary Stuart Masterson, who will make her feature directorial debut. The Hollywood Reporter says The Cake Eaters co-stars screenwriter Jayce Bartok as Guy, who returns to his small hometown after pursuing his dreams in the city. Stanford will play Beagle, his oddball brother who falls for a gravely ill girl named Georgia (Stewart).

The Cake Eaters will start production later this month in New York; no release date has been set.
