Aaron Sorkin Set to Write The Challenge

Aaron Sorkin has signed on to write the upcoming courthouse drama The Challenge. According to Variety, George Clooney will produce the project with his partner Grant Heslov through their own Smoke House Productions.

At this time, Clooney is looking to direct and possibly star in the film, which revolves around Navy lawyer Charles Swift and Georgetown University law professor Neal Katyal. Both worked to get Osama Bin Laden's driver, Salim Hamdan, a fair trial after the man spent five years in Guantanamo Bay. The screenplay will not debate Salim Hamdan's innocence, but will focus on the efforts of the two lawyers as they embark on suing the President of the United States for violating the constitution.

The film does not have a set start date at this time.

The Challenge was released in 2010.
