Aaron Sorkin Eyes Up Moneyball

It seems that a stalled project is ready to batter up once more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aaron Sorkin has been brought on by Columbia to rewrite Moneyball.

It seems that Columbia is putting this on the fast-track, with the studio expecting a draft from Sorkin as early as August. It was said that Brad Pitt was still attached to star, but Steven Soderbergh is no longer writing or directing.

Sorkin is currently writing The Social Network, a film based off the popular social networking site Facebook.

Moneyball was released September 23rd, 2011 and stars Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright, Chris Pratt, Stephen Bishop, Brent Jennings, Ken Medlock. The film is directed by Bennett Miller.
