Paramount Pictures has moved the comedy A Thousand Words from January 13, 2012 to March 23, 2012, to capitalize on star Eddie Murphy's new gig hosting the 84th Annual Academy Awards on February 27.

A Thousand Words centers on Eddie Murphy's character, a man who learns he can only speak 1,000 more words before he dies. Cliff Curtis, Clark Duke, Kerry Washington, and Allison Janney co-star in the comedy, which is directed by Brian Robbins. A Thousand Words will square off at the box office against Lionsgate's highly-anticipated adaptation The Hunger Games.

Paramount has also shifted the release date of The Devil Inside to January 6, 2012. The Possession is currently the only other movie slated for a January 6, 2012 release.

A Thousand Words was released March 9th, 2012 and stars Eddie Murphy, Kerry Washington, Emanuel Ragsdale, Jill Basey, Greg Collins, Robert LeQuang, Michael G. Wilkinson, Lyndsey Nelson. The film is directed by Brian Robbins.

The Devil Inside was released January 6th, 2012 and stars Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth, Ionut Grama, Suzan Crowley, Bonnie Morgan, Brian Johnson, Preston James Hillier. The film is directed by William Brent Bell.

    Eddie needs to go do a film like the ones that made him famous to get his career back in gear. With so many flops out side of the animation films he has done, it will take a gritty Beverly Hills cop type role or Trading Spaces. Eddie is not, like Uncle Eddie, and no longer the Eddie from Raw...

    @moviegeek - Yeah. The movie was filmed a WHILE ago but it was shelved until now for some reason. I am friends with this guy who went to see a screening of it and he said that it was terrible.
