A Look at Tin Man on Sci Fi

Source:  Francine Brokaw
Movie PictureZooey Deschanel stars as DG in this sci-fi event based on the legendary classic characters in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Alan Cumming is Glitch, a man whose brain has been removed, Raoul Trujillo is Raw, a half-wolverine oracle who has been abused, and Neal McDonough is Wyatt Cain, a former law enforcer, or tin man as they are called because of their badges.

When a storm whisks DG away from her boring life as a waitress in the Midwest and dumps her in the Outer Zone, aka the O.Z., she discovers a completely different world run by the evil sorceress Azkadella (Kathleen Robertson). This O.Z. is not anything like the beautiful Land of Oz most people know. DG meets some strange characters who befriend her and tell her the story of how Azkadella is going to change the O.Z. forever and keep it in darkness. The only way to save it is for DG to find the one missing piece of Azkadella's horror machine, a hidden emerald. DG learns from the Mystic Man (Richard Dreyfus) about her past and her own magical powers. DG also learns that the life she led in the Midwest was a lie and her real mother is here in the O.Z. The exiled Queen known as Lavender Eyes (Anna Galvin) is about to lose the O.Z. forever if the emerald finds its way to Azkadella, who, as DG learns, is her own sister. Putting the pieces of her family together while hunting for the emerald is an arduous task that lasts over three nights on the SciFi channel. Azkadella's torturous reign of evil has spawned a rebellion and DG finds herself smack in the middle of a nightmare. But she doesn't hesitate to jump right into the fight and slowly remembers her past while her new friends help her to save the land.

Take Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz, add a touch of Stargate and you have Tin Man. This is a mesmerizing tale of good and evil with incredible effects and interesting characters. Tin Man premiers Sunday December 2 at 9 PM and runs for three consecutive nights. Tune in for an interesting six hours!

this looks really good. i'll have to see the mini series, but this does look like they could keep going with this, just like L. Frank Baum did with the original series.

This looks really cool and different. Being a fan of the "Wizard of Oz", I'm really excited to see this! Zooey Deschanel is 1 of my favorite actresses & this should be really interesting casting with Richard Dreyfuss, Kathleen Robertson,Alan Cumming.
This could be really really good & edgy cool, a cult classsic in the works, or be a let down!
I'm keeping an open mind & my fingers crossed!
I'm just not 1 for watching Tv for three consecutive nights, so I hope it can keep me interested! I agree with "ShareDaddy" on the "six consecutive hours of television over the course of three night's" does seem impossible!
So my question is this. Is this going to be a "mini series" with new episodes each week..?? Or is this a made for Tv Movie for SciFi see it once & it's gone??

sounds pretty cool, i hope it's made into an actual series rather than 3 on off episodes, they could go along way with it

Does anyone have an approximate age appropriate range for this, my three sons wan to see this badly? Catching six consecutive hours of television over the course of three night's sounds impossible at best, this may have to wait for the DVD release, which should already be scheduled like most others Sci-fi movies, strange that it isn't.
