Spider-Man 4 May Be Shooting for a 2010 Release

Source:  IESB.net
Sony has renewed their rights to the Spider-Man series of films, according to Marvel Vice Chairman Peter Cuneo. Cuneo, speaking to IESB.net, suggested that this means that the new film could be released in either 2010 or 2011.

Cuneo said "As far as Spider-Man 4, it's really up to Sony and it up to them, most likely scenario is 2010 or 2011 but we can't speak for them and I think that we don't know. They have given us their re-up payment for that film so you know they're going to make it within a reasonable timeframe. Sony may be looking at some issues with the cast and so on, I think they have to make some decisions."

It is difficult to determine from Cuneo's statement what this means in terms of whether or not any of the original cast, or director Sam Raimi, intends to return for Spider-Man 4.

dude, Marvel should stop Sonny Pictures if they can, from destroying the Spider-man franchise. They are just gonna try to get money off of the movie and when it bombs, nobody will end up watching the 5th one. Damn it!

P.S. go SM3!

I thought last word was that Tobe did not want to return to this franchise. So in hind sight, they have no choice but to replace him.

Unfortunately I think this franchise needs to die, had they thought out a more feasable way to make 3 into a 2 movie bit, this franchise would be thriving and people would be largely anticipating this movie. Sandman should have been the villain in 3, and venom should have gotten an entire movie to himself in 4.

Too late now, now the roller coaster goes down hill, and fast.

When you change actors in the middle of a fanchise it kills it. They need to leave Tobie where he is or it will fuck it up.
Jim Carrey would be a horrible Carnage too, look at him as The Riddler (HORRIBLE) I do agree with Ryan Phillipe though, that wouldn't be too bad.

I think Patrick Fugit is a good choice to play Spidey. Although I liked The first two Spidey films and Thought Spidey 3 was merely okay, I never thought Tobey McGuire was a good Spidey. That being said, hopefully Spidey four will bring out the Wise-cracking Spidey we all know and love.

Make Spider-man goes nuts and rips off his suit in the middle of the street screaming, "I LOVE YOU MJ!" *SOB* "LOVE YOU MJ!...COME BACK TO ME!"

Then the police finds MJ's body and another guy's body stuck to the wall with webjuice plastered all over them with a note saying, "BITCH"

What about Ralph Fiennes for Carnage? Or do you suppose maybe he's to old, and tied up with Voldemort?

I'd say Ryan Phillipe should play carnage, not Jim Carrey because he is too much of a comedian for some people.

Well no shit Peter Parker is going to be in the sequel....he's Spider-Man! I see Jake Gyllenhal playing as the next Spidey but Tober would also be good. The only thing they have to work on it the story line. They really really really gotta make up for that 3rd garbage they released. It disapointted alot of people and fans speacially. We'll see how this turns out with more info...

Any suggestion who they could get to play Carnage in the 4th movie what actor is crazy enough to play him. A few combinations Hunters storyline Lizard and Kraven with Black Cat, Carnage and Venom, Electro and Shocker, Chameleon and Vulture. Just thinking out loud

I've just read everyone's comments. The reason why I'd like to see Black Cat in part 4 is because I am tired of the whole Peter Parker/Mary Jane thing already. He needs a new love interest. I've read in a few comments about bringing Jake Gyllenhal in to play Parker. Maybe not as Spider-Man, but I would like to see Jake in The Prince of Persia instead.

I was very disappointed with the third one. The fight scenes were great, but everything in between sucked. Especially the part when they had Peter Parker strutting like John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever. If they do make a part 4 I would like to see The Lizard & Black Cat in it. They've shown the professor before. Might as well do something with him already.

lmao...I like how I said the exact same thing as vampire about the next film's villians one page ago and everyone agrees with him, but if I say something, people try to hump my leg. They need somebody who is crazy/pyscho to play Cassidy to give his character justice, and then when he turns into Carnage, the audience is like 'oh shit he was insane before he turned into that, can't imagine what he'd be like now'.

May 24th, 2008 5:39pm
i like black cat, but im not sure about her going into the big screen. what would be pretty cool is a crossing of spider-man and daredevil, but stupid ben affleck doesnt want to reprise his role as matt murdock. asshole.

May 24th, 2008 5:23pm
Yea I know it'd be kind of hard to find someone insane enough for Cledus Cassidy, but I will try and banter off a few, and I am only assuming that 4 will make up for 3, I also hear that Black Cat might be making her entrance into a new one.

Carnage and The Lizard sounds good. It a good possibility thats what they will due but the Lizard was rumored to be the villan for the 3rd one. Its Hard to say who could pull of carnage.
