Sony has renewed their rights to the
Spider-Man series of films, according to Marvel Vice Chairman Peter Cuneo. Cuneo, speaking to
IESB.net, suggested that this means that the new film could be released in either 2010 or 2011.
Cuneo said "As far as
Spider-Man 4, it's really up to Sony and it up to them, most likely scenario is 2010 or 2011 but we can't speak for them and I think that we don't know. They have given us their re-up payment for that film so you know they're going to make it within a reasonable timeframe. Sony may be looking at some issues with the cast and so on, I think they have to make some decisions."
It is difficult to determine from Cuneo's statement what this means in terms of whether or not any of the original cast, or director Sam Raimi, intends to return for
Spider-Man 4.

P.S. go SM3!
Unfortunately I think this franchise needs to die, had they thought out a more feasable way to make 3 into a 2 movie bit, this franchise would be thriving and people would be largely anticipating this movie. Sandman should have been the villain in 3, and venom should have gotten an entire movie to himself in 4.
Too late now, now the roller coaster goes down hill, and fast.
Jim Carrey would be a horrible Carnage too, look at him as The Riddler (HORRIBLE) I do agree with Ryan Phillipe though, that wouldn't be too bad.
Then the police finds MJ's body and another guy's body stuck to the wall with webjuice plastered all over them with a note saying, "BITCH"
Fuck yu asshole.
I hate to admit it,but you are right about parker.
