David Goyer is in early talks to create a second
Ghost Rider film. He is currently in the early stages of creating a story, and will supervise a team of writers on the final script. According to
Variety, even though this is being considered a re-boot of the series,
Ghost Rider 2 will once again star Nicolas Cage in the lead role.
At this time, Goyer still hasn't officially signed onto the project. The plan is for Goyer to base his story on a
Ghost Rider
script that was written years ago by the director. This new film will be produced by former Marvel president Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul, with Gary Foster on as an executive producer. There is no word on whether Goyer himself will direct the rebooted sequel.
Though the film doesn't have a set start date, it is likely that we won't see
Ghost Rider 2 until sometime in 2011.

Comrade. Robert Downey Jr. could make a good doctor strange, but I don't know that he would play another comic book character. Man, I can't really think of a good actor to play Strange right now
There is only one question: Will it be watchable?
:P
As for those other actors, Welling and Craig, well I think they are both typecast and since Smallville is still on the air and Bond 23 is (is it still?) on the way, I don't think they would be the right fit. For Ketch, I almost think a "nobody" no-name actor will make for a better fit. And, with Ketch back in the comics ("Ghost Rider: Danny Ketch" and "Ghost Riders: Heaven's on Fire" - seriously check out this last one!), now would be the perfect opportunity to bring Ketch to life on the big screen. He is Blaze's brother after all, so no doubt Cage would have a cameo, even a Rider cameo, which would all be fine with me if it meant passing the torch down to Ketch, and even possibly showing the two brothers as Ghost Riders.
Oh, the possibilities....
Lol, or Daniel Craig.
And JB as for a good actor to play Ketch? Hmmm... I've thought a lot about this, and I want someone true to Ketch's image. This first opinion comes straight from a Google Image search......Jared Padalecki. OK now before all the hate mail comes in just remember I'm not basing that off his acting abilities, which I don't know too much about, just Friday the 13th 2009, but his facial image which to me, is a great interpretation of Ketch.
Also, I feel Dr. Strange would surely have room for a story-driven cameo, as he sometimes did in the 90's books, and this would also set up for the "Dr. Strange" movie.
Well?
Anyway... as a fan of the comics, though primarily the Daniel Ketch ones, I'd say that Ghost Rider was a decent film right up to the moment Nic Cage shows up on screen. After that, it's one long crash down a poorly constructed ramp. Forgive the blatant imagery.
Thanks for keeping me in check there.
Gigandet would have to do some coke first to play a good Ketch. Ghost Rider was always a good character because of how edgy he was, how he had to live with the fact that he had something unholy inside of him that he tried to use for good. But, if he took the role seriously (and I won't hate the guy automatically, even though he was in Twilight) I think he could probably do something decent with it. He'd probably be able to pull off Blaze no problem.
Vanboy's just about pissed himself with excitement. What happened to being too civilized to use words like that? I'd hate it if your little girls saw you resorting to using that kind of language.
By the way asshole..."You're using the -work- "kitsch" wrong."
I'm using the "WORK?" HAAAAAAA! What a tard!
"Watch Vanboy define kitsch and argue that he used it correctly." There you go again, calling for everyone to watch, and get behind you as you (in your mind) put me in my place. You must really be insecure in your opinion, that you need other people's support. You're just pissed because I didn't respond on the other thread, to whatever you said. Must have been something you were proud of.
Awwwww, did you keep checking day after day, waiting for me to give you something to read, so you could respond to it with such defiant retorts, so you could affirm your manhood? Sorry to leave you standing there in the rain pissed off. Told you I wasn't going to respond to that anymore, dumbass.
I'm done being amused by you, you sexually frustrated little bitch! I'm sorry if mommy blocked the porn sites from your computer. No need to take it out on me. Surely you must have some magazines hidden somewhere.
People only want to talk about movies on this site, Com-Rad! I'm through with you! Now talk about movies or shut the F**K UP!
Sorry, but a role like that - I would not think twice about NOT casting Cage in.
I still think he's way too old to play Johnny Blaze. Again though, I want to see what he can do in a director's chair.
He's not my favorite actor, but it's not my least favorite either. I mean come guys, Face/Off, National Treasure, Gone in 60 Seconds, and Family Man were good fucking movies.
