E! Network Picks Up Three New Line Cinema Films.

Source:  Variety
While three films will make their basic-cable premieres on other networks, E! has secured this trio of New Line films for the second run. According to Variety, E! has paid $7 million for the second-position rights to three films from New Line Cinema: Sex and the City: The Movie and the yet-to-be-released films The Women and He's Just Not That Into You.

The films will be slotted into the "Movies We Love" banner on the network, which airs films at 8 PM ET on Saturday nights. Sex and the City: The Movie and He's Just Not That Into You will make their basic-cable premieres on the USA Network while The Women will make it's small-screen premiere on TBS before all of them will be shown on E!

"Movies are a big piece of the success E! has had in the ratings for the first half of the year," said Cyndi McClellan, senior VP of research and programming strategy for Comcast Entertainment Group, which runs E! along with Style Network and G4.

It isn't clear when these films will be broadcast on the cable network at this time. The Women is slated for a September 12 theatrical release while He's Just Not That Into You will open on February 6, 2009.
