Sylvester Stallone Brings Science Fiction to Rambo V: The Savage Hunt

Source:  AICN
Sylvester Stallone recently dropped some new information about his upcoming fifth installment of the John Rambo series Rambo V: A Savage Hunt to AICN, the first item being the new title. He also said that the film will indeed take place in the United States, but that it will be structured differently from the sequels we've seen in the past.

According to Stallone himself, Rambo V: A Savage Hunt will take place in the Pacific Northwest, in the general area where First Blood took place. Rambo will come in contact with a secret U.S. Military instillation that is conducting SAVAGERY experiments on soliders. Their plan is to create brilliant, instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about killing other men in combat. In Sly's conversation with AICN, he brought up the ancient Immortals, a group of children that were raised to kill since birth.

The story has the experiments working out for the military, until one of the killers becomes unstoppable and sets off on a rampage. John Rambo is brought in as part of a Black Ops Squad to capture and kill this "worse than Rambo" soldier. AICN also has an image of the 1-Sheet that Sly will be bringing to the Toronto Film Festival, which you can check out below:

I heard in the first draft - Rambo and said Beast fall in Love - Run off and settle down in the woods - Sly wasnt happy with this draft - They re-wrote it so that Sly dosent fall in Love with the Beast & simply kills it in the 3rd act.

Sly isn't that bright, the only two franchises he's good at and he wants to ruin one of them. I expect a less than interesting film, Sly needs to retire from acting and focus on something else.

Everyone stop with the cover! It was lamely photoshopped. The savage Hunt as we all know is for this super soldier. And since they're in early pre-production the only thing the could find was a pic of a wolf or dog on google to make the title sound cooler. And I think you all know that, and are just giving it a hard time. And ya'll need to stop.

Hounestly, the movie idea does sound good. But the issues I have is A- its a Rambo film. So it shouldn't have some sci-fi story. B- its a Rambo film. Ok, Ok, Ok. You got me. only one issue. but it is a huge thing right? Make a new character, and say have Vin Disel as the main good guy, and Sly as their general who train Vin and the new ultimate bad guy... now that sounds good. Sly, please leave Rambo alone unless your going to take him into a area of realism, and not sci-fi.

WOAH OMFG has everyone seen the new movie news striking the other sites

Resident Evil Reboot in the works
Children Of The Corn Remake
Suspiria Remake
Akira Live Action is back on track (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

Pixar to make the ANT-MAN MOVIE

and well to stay on topic, here are some more Rambo plot details, the official Synopsis word by word out of Stallone's mouth.

AND OFFICIAL DETAILS ON RAMBO 6

Official "Rambo 5" synopsis: John Rambo could track anyone - or anything - on earth. Now the military desperately needs him for a mission that his ultrasensitive instincts tell him he should refuse. A beast is loose somewhere north of the Artic Circle. It has already decimated a secret research facility and annihilated a squad of elite military guards. And the raging creature is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation.

It's a job that Rambo and his 22-year-old hunting partner, Beau Brady, can't turn down, but they and a team of highly-skilled special forces kill team discover that the prey is a terror beyond their wildest imagination - a half-human abomination created by a renegade agency through a series of outlawed genetic experiments. It has man's cunning, a predator's savageness, and a prehistoric power that has transcended the ages. And even if Rambo and Beau survive its unrelenting hunger for human blood, they'll still have to confront the grim reality that it may have grown immortal.

Also within the article Stallone confirms a Rambo 6, slated it will be the finale, in the saga and be based upon James Byron Higgins 'Hunter' Novel

I agree Predators. Our hero is being transformed. Stallone is f**king it up. He should have just let Rambo stay at home, as was shown in the last one. It was a perfect finish to the franchise. Damn shame it's going in this direction.

Meant Smallville "thread".

Actually Vampire, this is exactly what I commented recently about this story, that I posted on the Smallville threat,

"In case anyone wants to know, Here's the news about the next Rambo movie. I don't care for the Sci-Fi aspect of it. Sounds too fantastical for me."

"Rambo 5 sounds like it'll be more of a direct sequel to "First Blood" (1982) than any of the over-the-top sequels were. According to Aint it Cool News, the film will see the muscly Vet return to the misty greens of America's Northwest - the same terrain portly Brian Dennehy hunted him down in in the original film.

The tentative title (it'll change - the last "Rambo" went through about five different titles before Sly, and Lionsgate, decided on a keeper) for the new film is "Rambo V : The Savage Hunt". In it, "....there is a U.S. Military installation that is doing experiments on elite soldiers as part of some sort of program where they're attempting to tap into that SAVAGERY that we have deeply embedded into us. The plan is create brilliantly instinctual killer soldiers that have no qualms about taking life. Sly brought up the ancient Immortals, which were cartoonishly glimpsed in 300. In reality, they were children trained from the time they were infants to kill", says the site. "Well as happens with Government Experiments to create the perfect killer - it goes exceptionally well... and then exceptionally badly. And Rambo is brought in with a Black Ops squad ("Like in PREDATOR") to hunt, capture or kill this worse than Rambo killer."

"The film, which Stallone's convinced (or intending to be) will be the last "Rambo" film, is in the early stages of development says the site."

Looks like Rambo is taking the "Crystal Skull" route. Too bad. Another series changing genres despite it's fans wishes. What's Stallone thinking? Maybe that Jintropin finally got to his brain.

I hope the story line is a little better than Rambo , I liked it and give it 2 thumbs up but it could had been a little better written. The action in it was awesome thats what hooked me.

The idea seems a bit... Odd... For the "First Blood" series, but I agree with Raoul_Duke. You can never get too much of John Rambo, and if the movie is anywhere near as good as "Rambo" was, as I said in the initial thread announcing this movie, then I'm definitely game for it.

The poster looks pretty interesting... A little lame-ish, but it works for being this early in the production process. I do really like the title... It's just badass enough for the "First Blood" series. Lol.

Will he meet Les Enfants Terribles (Solid and Liquid Snakes) ?
It would make a great crossover.

Let me guess, John Rambo is a part of the Project ! His blood has been used in the past to create the super soldiers, am I right ?
