COMIC-CON 2008 2 All New The Day the Earth Stood Still Poster

20th Century Fox is coming to Comic-Con armed with two new posters for The Day the Earth Stood Still, which opens nationwide on December 12. Click below to enlarge these new posters for the film, starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly and Kathy Bates.

A remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic about a humanoid alien named Klaatu (Keanu Reeves) who arrives on Earth accompanied by an indestructible, heavily armed robot and a warning to world leaders that their continued aggression will lead to annihilation by species watching from afar.

seriously though the original is classic.
the pacing may be slow because of how movies were made back then but seriously you should see the original at least once.
maybe some afternoon when youre too sick or lazy to go outside or make use of the day, lay in a slovenly pose on the couch and give it a glance.
im not saying youll love it, but its a good story.
keanu may not be the best actor in the world, but the rest of the cast is great so hopefully they can fix his acting in the editing room.
unless klaatu is supposed to be sort of mechanical in nature, then reeves's uncomfortable approach to dialogue might work.
his style seemed perfect for the mentally unstable junkie he played in 'a scanner darkly', so theres the proof that his 'aloof' sort of nature fits certain characters.
i was afraid they were gonna remove gort from the story entirely, but i guess they didnt.
maybe if it was called "The Day the Earth Stands Still"
