Jensen did say that he'll be "hitting the wall in a few hours." He did look exhausted. Jared was up until 6 am on set and "missed" his flight! He's only human dude. He was most probably pacing himself at the panel interview. He had to be "on" and attentive to the questions fielded. So when Eric is talking he takes a breather! Under the circumstances,I think Jensen applied himself seriously and really loves the SN fans.

Hey Bardicvoice I read your full account via link from Supernatural TV and thoroughly enjoyed it, you made me feel like I was almost there you are very informative and funny and do a great job of remembering everything that was said. I love your enthusiasm and I also read all your reviews as you post them about each and every episode of Supernatural.

These interviews are fantastic! Thank you for asking intelligent questions, and for giving Jensen, Kripke, and Ben plenty of time to articulate their answers. Your interviewer gets four stars from me for putting everyone at ease while answering questions (you even got Jensen goofing off, and out of his 'this is serious business' mode. ^_^).

My only quibble is that you might consider attaching a spoiler warning to these? Kripke in particular gives away some pretty specific plot points, and there are enough fans that are trying to avoid all spoilers that it warrants a warning, I think. It didn't bother me, but for the reputation of the site's sake, I'd stick a note on here somewhere. :)

Thank you again for the fantastic interviews! :D

I attended the "Supernatural" panel at Comic-Con (flew from the East Coast just for this), and I can't understand how anyone could describe it as being flat or disappointing. Jensen was fully well engaged despite fatigue, chuckling, laughing, and providing comments and answers. His interactions with Sera and Eric in particular were tremendous fun, as was his perfect slide into Dean when, in answer to a fan's question about why Sam hadn't driven the Impala at all in season two, he dropped his voice into Dean's register and growled, "Because it's MY car!" He was great. The DVD footage on the making of AHBL2 was funny and fascinating, and well worth it. The care taken by all the panelists to tease fans without outright spoiling us was delightful to me. Warner lacked a bit on promotion and communication, but hey - Comic-Con is a 125,000-person zoo, with impossible logistics, and could not be expected to grant perfection. I enjoyed myself immensely and was well satisfied. My detailed account is up on my LJ: why not stop by and see it through my eyes?

Hell, why would Jensen seem eager to see his fans? I've heard plenty of stories about rabid girls who throw themselves on him when he's out promoting the show like he was at Comic Con. Jensen was great and he stayed up really late. Cynthia was right; somebody should have offered him a shot of expresso to wake him right up.
Not that much laughing, but even if jared was there; who knows? He was tired maybe he didnt feel like laughing. Fans shouldnt expect Jensen to be smiling and laughing 24/7. If I had to stay up till 2:30 am shooting, then catch a flight to talk to hundreds of fans, i think i would have "accidently" missed the thing. People should be grateful to even get a glance at the guy. Supernatural is the best show on TV and Jensen and Jared rock it. Congratulations to both of them for help creating a show that took the world by storm.

I too was there in the tenth row and I loved that Jensen and the rest were there to answer questions and tell us a little about S3. I drove in from AZ and I wish the panel was longer, one hour is hardly enough time to go into any depth. I agree, unfortunately without Jared, we didn't have the comic banter those two are known for, but Jensen was completely affable and sincere in his appreciation to the fans. He joked and smiled a lot. I wish I could look so good and be so pleasant under those exhausting circumstances. I think it is great they took the time out of their busy schedules to come.

Yes, I would have liked more inside info on S3 and some new footage, but under the circumstances, with the confines of Comic-Con, it was pretty much what I expected. I enjoyed the other presentations that I went to also, but none were as great as the Supernatural one. (Yes, I am biased, it IS the reason I went after all!!)

My main gripe is with Warner Brothers for not promoting the show as much as it could. The huge Smallville bags they were handing out free should have had Supernatural on one side. I was at the WB booth four times and never got one poster or button of Supernatural. I guess the good news is they had always run out, but how much did they bring? Obviously not enough! I hope they realize now with all the fans asking for Supernatural items that maybe the show warrants more promotion.

I agree, Jason. I think Jensen did pretty well for a guy who looked exhausted. Someone should have taken pity on him and offered him a couple of shots of Starbuck's finest.

To koolcat5:
I too was at the Supernatural panel, in the fourth row, and had been camped out for the panel discussion since the doors opend. As I understand it, Jensen was up until 2:30 am Saturday morning and then caught a flight to San Diego a few hours later. I agree that the panel discussion seemed flat, but I attribute that to the TV Guide person acting as moderator. It would have been much better with a few prepared comments from Eric Kripke followed by lots of fan questions. Also, since Jared wasn't there, I think we missed out on the comic banter between those two. I completely disagree with you that Jensen was in a foul mood or didn't seem to appreciate the fans.

To the comment below, huh? You're complaining that Jensen wasn't there for the 20 minutes you watched the footage? Ooookay.

From what I've read from several fan reports, Jensen's personality was just fine. From the transcipts from the panel, and some other fan reports, it appears that he offered comments and joked a fair amount. What's he supposed to do while others are talking? Make faces or maybe do a shadow puppets with his hands? Dance, monkey, dance! From what I've seen in video clips and in pictures, he was more than affable.

I drove all the way from New Mexico to San Diego to see the Jensen Ackles, after waiting since early morning until mid after noon I finally did get to see him. I was sitting front row to the left, so was it worth it? In one word "NO!". To begin after so many waited so long we were treated to 20 minutes of footage we had already seen with no Jensen Ackles seated on the panel. Finally, when he did arrive I was shocked to see his personality was seriously lacking. Hardly talking and not smiling at all he look like the last place he wanted to be was there in front of his fans at Comicon San Diego! Let me make things clear. I am a huge fan of Supernatural and Jensen Ackles above all but I was so disappointed by him and the Supernatural panel. Sorry guys I give you a grade of F! I'm glad to see Jensen Ackles was in a better mood being interviewed verses the panel. Strange how he seems to appreciate the fans in the interview but in practice he seemed to want to be anywhere but infront of his fans who waited hours and hours to see him.
