Amy Heckerling Developing 1985 for NBC

Source:  Variety
Amy Heckerling, who helped define the 1980s teenager with Fast Times at Ridgemont High, is revisiting the decade via a project she's working on at NBC, according to Variety.

Tentatively titled 1985, the series will center on a girl growing up in the 1980s, as narrated (a la The Wonder Years and Everybody Hates Chris) by the woman in the present day. Stories will focus on her memories of being a Reagan-era teen, navigating high school and family life. Heckerling plans to use music of the period as a backdrop.

NBC Universal TV Studio is behind the single-camera half-hour project, which has been picked up as a script at the network. Heckerling is on board to executive produce, write and direct.
