Kate Hudson has just signed on to star as painter Margaret Keane in Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski's directing debut
Big Eyes. According to
Variety,
Big Eyes will be produced by Dan Halsted, Bonafide partners Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, and Andrew Meieran.
The film will center on Keane's personal awakening at the onset of the feminist movement, leading to a lawsuit she filed against her husband, Walter, who claimed credit for her work.
Big Eyes will be Alexander and Karaszewski third writing collaboration, having also worked together on
1408 and
Ed Wood.
Production for
Big Eyes is scheduled to start in June.
