Cartoon Network Gets Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5

Source:  Variety
Cartoon Network has snatched up an animated series Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5, and is slated to start airing Saturday mornings next year.

According to Variety, Chief content officer Rob Sorcher took the directoin of Cartoon Network programming late last year, and has been pushing the cable station toward boys' action and adventure shows, with an emphasis on bankable brands like Batman and Star Wars.

A Hot Wheels movie based on the enduring brand of toy cars had been kicking around at Sony Pictures and is now being eyed by producer Joel Silver for Warner Bros.
