Fantastic Four Getting a Complete Reboot?

Source:  IESB.net
It seems yet another comic book franchise is getting a fresh start. IESB.net has heard word that 20th Century Fox is gearing up for a complete reboot of its Fantastic Four franchise.

The franchise is looking to be "less bubble gum" this time round following the Iron Man template, which was a complete success in reviews and box office take but a bit darker when it came to its superhero.

It was also reported that director Tim Story would not return and they will recast the foursome of Mr. Fantastic, The Human Torch, Inivisible Girl, The Thing and Dr. Doom.

We'll certainly keep you posted on any new updates regarding this reboot. Click Here! to read more on Fox's new plans.

They hired Akiva Goldsman who wrote "Batman & Robin" to write this. FOX has got to be the stupidest muhfkucers in the industry. They decide to remake a franchise two years after its latest installment? I mean come on, either Hollywood is extremely desperate to get new movies out which are complete garbage and not care due to the falling economy, or remakes have gotten to an insanely ridiculous level at this point where studios won't even wait two years after a last film to throw up their hands and redo it all. I personally think it's both.

But WHAT HAPPENED TO THE "SILVER SURFER" SOLO FILM???
"Rise of the Silver Surfer" was to be a lead-in to that movie, an introduction to the spaceway surfboarder. What the hell happened to THAT?? And where's the JMS SCRIPT?

I didnt like how they made Silver surfer so freaking weak...one of the most powerfull characters.....They could have atleast had a cliffhanger ending but NO....somehow they said "lets kill of Galactus." Even though he is the balance between Entities Life and Death..he is needed in the universe...and i heard the next movie Richards is working on the negative zone....Sounds cool..but again why kill galactus??? ugh...hate hollywood..give it back to Marvel

Matthew Fox for Dr. Doom?...seriously? Why does everybody have to try and top other people's cast lists...I was the first to post one, now everyone is just winging their own hoping that it works w/o putting any thought into them...I mean, I could see it if they were actually good, but Fox for Doom and Beckinsale for Invisible Woman? Yeesh...

I DO like the idea of Billy Crudup as Mr. Fanstastic...nice call kyle hannah.

GERARD BUTLER for Doom...duh.

I'd like a more serious take on it, and let us feel our heroes are actually in danger this time. Also my ideal cast:
I'm going for an older cast look.

Mr. Fantastic: Billy Crudup maybe
Invisible Woman: Kate Beckinsale
Human torch: Mark Whalberg (I will miss Chris Evans thou)
The Thing: Same actors voice, but CGI like people say
Doctor Doom: Mathew Fox

the thing should appear as a C.G.I. animated character,it would give him more presence power.

Billy Crudup (Watchmen) as Mr.Fantastic
Marley Shelton (Sin City, Planet Terror) as Invisible Woman
Michael Chiklis was a perfect Thing but they need to lose the costume and do a practical and CGI combo to pull him off too much CGI doesnt work and neither does too much practical. Im really stuck for whod play Thing. As for Torch...well heès supposed to be younger than the three, supposed to be a cocky hearthrob type of guy without pondering too much id go with Cody Linley (Hoot) he shows some promising acting chops and at least that way they wonèt pick Zac Efron or Jason Earles gasp!

WoW, Agent Vis, don't forget your tampons in the morning. Jesus! you may want to go get some anger management classes. However I do agree with you that it doesn't need to be dark, I wouldn't mind anew cast, but i also agree that its way too soon. either wya, all of u will see it.

Fuck the box office, the 2008 version was better...period.

Chris Evans is the only one I'll miss

I wonder if this will work. I mean, rebooting a movie so soon after the previous movies? It kinda failed with The Incredible Hulk (even though I personally liked it much better than the first, box office says otherwise I think). We'll see. In any case, I thought Chris Evans was perfect for the Human Torch, something tells me it'll be hard to top. :(

IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE FUCKING DARK, YOU PEICES OF SHIT!!!!! Do you know anything about the FF?! They're whole theme is the importance of family and the evolution of science! What an FF movie NEEDS is a director who can make a kick-ass sci-fi action movie that's fun for everyone but is also taken seriously, i.e. Transformers...MICHAEL BAY, DIPSHITS!

Not every comic movie needs to be "dark." Ya know why The Dark Knight was dark?...because it had the fucking word in its goddamn title!!!! Shut the fuck up! Dark works for street level heroes(Batman, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, etc.). The Fantastic Four goes on big space adventures! Yes, Dr. Doom needs to be more badass, and I guess you could say "dark," but you nimrods have twisted the meaning of the word after TDK. Your interpretation of it is meaningless...so shut up.

"Jessica Alba was just eye candy to attract in the guys that didn't read the comic" That's why I went... :)

However, I'll go to the next one, not for the "eye candy," but a good director, story, and cast. So far, I agree with Vis.

I agree with RavenX5. Give the rights back to Marvel atleast they'll base it on the comics and hopefully make it alittle darker than the other attempts especially when it comes to Dr Doom.

OK WHATEVER,VIS!!if they wanna make a good goddamn FF movie, they should stick to the fucking comics and this comment is also for the douchebags at Hollywood who dont know shit about comic book movies or video game movies.

Reboot yes. an while there at it, base it on the new fantastic four instead of the lame original characters. Hulk, Ghost Rider, Spider man, and wolverine? hell yeah! hey a comic fan can dream cant he? hahahaha
