A popular British actor will finally make his small screen debut on this side of the pond. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Doctor Who stars David Tennant will star in the NBC pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer.

The series revolves around Rex (Tennant), a Chicago lawyer who, after suffereing from panic attacks in court, starts teaching his clients how to represent themselves in the courtroom.

Andrew Leeds and David Lampson wrote the pilot for David Semel to direct. Semel is no stranger to NBC pilots, having directed the pilots for Heroes and Life. No production schedule was released for the pilot.
