Michael Apted has been hired by Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media to direct
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. According to
Variety, Andrew Adamson, who directed the first two films in the series, will be back for this third installment as a producer.
Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes will all be returning for this third go-around.
The second film,
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, is being released sometime in 2008.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will start principle photography in January of 2008. It is looking at a May 1st, 2009 release date.

Disney is probably in a huge rush to begin production because of it's successful predecessors and can't wait to start banking on it. I say, don't expect this to be nearly as good as the first two.
