High School Musical 4 Goes Back to Disney Channel

A popular franchise that transcended its TV roots is going back home. According to Variety, High School Musical 4 is being prepped for a return to The Disney Channel.The new film will feature a brand new cast, but returning behind the camera are screenwriter Peter Barsocchini and executive producers Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush. It wasn't clear if director Kenny Ortega would return for a fourth film.
They are aiming to start production later this year, and they're targeting a 2010 premiere on The Disney Channel.
