Producers Say No Plans for Jurassic Park 4

Source:  MovieWeb.com
During this weekend's junket for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy revealed that there are absolutely no plans for Jurassic Park 4.

"No... I don't know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it."

The next installment has been in development hell since 2001's Jurassic Park III, with people in and out of the project for years.

This is true, "Silence of the Lambs" is the superior film, hands down. It just seemed to me like with that comment, you were dissing on "Hannibal." lolz.

None taken, Vamp. Hannibal was awesome, but not "great", as in, can't be compared with Silence of the Lambs in how great it was, at least for me.

Well, I could cry right now. I really want a fourth one. I mourn the passing of Crichton, he was a GREAT author, and there's no doubting that. I think, though, that these producers should put into motion a fourth "Jurassic Park" film, and make it completely epic, and have lots of stuff to hype it up (Much like "The Dark Knight's" more than annoying ad campaign.), and make it LIVE UP TO the hype. Then the series can either go on, or go out with a bang, and you could do it all in memory of Crichton. That's what I'd attempt to do, anyway.

Oh, and Diaigma, there's no disrespect to you in this statement, since Killerman's a dope, but "Hannibal" was an awesome movie. :)

"No lack of respect, i respect your opinions but frankly they suck."

Just by saying that is a BLANANT lack of respect. Hypocrite.

I agree with you on Cop Land, Untouchables, Casio, but the others? You SERIOUSLY think they're great?
Hannibal = 38%
Jeepers Creepers = 44%
Assassins = 13%
(Rottentomatoes.com)

What about films like, Silence of the Lambs, Unforgiven, Schindler's List, Out of Africa, Gandhi, The French Connection, need I go on? What about LOTR and TDK? So far you've shown us that you only enjoy gritty crime dramas and Stallone movies. Nothing wrong with enjoying a specific genera, but it appears that your tastes are limited, like a picky eater. So very sad. And I stand by ENOUGH said. First of all "nough" is not a word, but wannabe gang slang, and second, the whole use of "nough" said implies that you're finished talking. "A sharp tongue is no indication of a keen mind."

So try this out for size.

HOW ABOUT YOU SHUT YOUR CORPULENT PIE-HOLE, YOU TWO-FACED TROGLODYTE!

And the name's Diaigma. Don't even associate that piece of crap digimon with my name. Genius!

To add about the 4th JP movie idea;In a sense I can agree with the producers, to respect Crichton's concept and his passing they could stop at three, but it would still be nice if they could find a good storyline for a fourth film.

You know killerman,for someone who criticizes others tastes and opinions you have an extremely narrow knowledge range. Come on "do they want to pull a 007 on the harry potter range", please... Any person who has knowledge of the world already knows that there are only 7 HP books. Just for the record enjoying something that has some historical connection isn't bad taste. IT IS A CRAVING FOR AN EVEN GREATER FIELD OF PERCEPTION THAN WHAT THE VIEWER ALREADY HAS.

Here's some examples digimon. Hannibal, Cop Land, The Untouchables, Jeepers Creepers, Casino, Assassins. Oh should i go on? No lack of respect, i respect your opinions but frankly they suck. Nough said. Not e-nough. Lame ass motherfucker.

They should do it. Make JPIV & V back to back. Where (The Army, The Government or The Military...,or whoever)they go back to Isla Nublar & Sorna & kill all the dinosaurs...They need an ending to the saga.

For the record, I only enjoyed the first, killer. Saying that I have bad taste for that is insult to injury. The ONLY thing I liked about 2 was the doghouse dangling from T-Rex's mouth. The first was a block-buster masterpiece. You want a worse film from the same era? Try Dante's Peak or Twister. The freak'in dog was more important than grandma and the aunt in those movies, for gripes sake. How is that for strong human story values? At least in JP 1 there was sibling bonding and an element of survival intuitiveness.

In other words, I respect that you don't like it. Why the lack of respect to those who do?

Out of curiosity, what films ARE in good taste for your palate? Humor us with a few examples. I mean, you gave Saw V 5 stars, and even said it was Oscar worthy for its storyline. Sorry, no such category exists, and... an Oscar for Saw... Wow... Fat chance in Hades, friend, but if you like it, who am I to persuade you otherwise? Enough said :P

Hey Brooks. They are leaving it alone. The article said NO on a 4th, which is VERY good news indeed.

anyone who enjoyed these movies displays bad taste. hey are indeed a triumph of special effects artistry, but the movie is lacking other qualities that it needs even more, such as a sense of awe and wonderment, and strong human story values. There's my reason hyper man. Nough said.

Well, this is good. To me, the first was the best and perfect in every way, and the last two weren't that great (but they were all right... maybe a "C" grade), so stopping the fourth is probably a good thing. But I agree with razorglove... why make twice as many movies as the books?

LOL that would be like making a movie out of my book and then making more movies. I would not like that. The best thing about this whole thing is that they're honoring Michael Crichton by not making it.

R.I.P. Crichton, you genius.

And btw, why don't they follow the exact guidelines of Jurassic Park (and what made it so successful) and go off of that? I mean you can make a decent script with such a cool idea, maybe show the beginning of when they were being created on the park and what happened directly after they closed it 3 hours after the first film. Almost like it was before the 2nd film The Lost World. Where they attempt to retake the facilities and they get their asses handed to them by the dinosaurs newfound freedom, and end the movie with Malcom in the Subway at the beginning of The Lost World. I mean, they can do it. They should do one that's completely awesome going off unused chapters or parts from Crichton's books, like a tribute.

Cell, do you know you're dumb? Or are you trying to be annoying on purpose? Seriously, your sarcastic remark was just well, idiotic. I know the whole point of sarcasm is to be ridiculous but at the same time slightly clever and non arguable. That being said, WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY REMAKE JURASSIC PARK WHICH IS NOT EVEN AN OLD MOVIE. It was out when? 1993? There's a difference of horrible looking effects from 80s and below movies, and 90s and above. Major differences. Jurassic Park is still one of the best looking movies surprisingly. I know you were joking, but come on man, be somewhat intelligent please. (Sorry for the harshness)

Thank you. JP 1 was decent and enough. 2 killed it and Goldblum's career. 3 was just an awkward attempt to reclaim its viability as a worthy franchise.

Every comment you write killerman is always a negative.JP is a movie that showed people that Hollywood can bring anything to life and is one of steven's best.Are you trying to be some sort of bad guy on this website?

Killerman you can go fuck yourself. The first one was very well done, groundbreaking even. The second was just okay, but I will give you the third as it was atrocious. But to say it is the worst trilogy ever is ridiculous. Jurassic Park is a cinematic classic.
