Battle Royale Remake Stalled at the Gate

You know, there's a reason why Japanese cinema is becoming more and more popular and even remade in several cases-the intensity of the storylines. Life is full of harsh realities and tragedies, which in turn make us appreciate how precious life is and instill in us a fervor to protect and support those we love. Films like Battle Royale remind us of that, and they are certainly more realistic than most of the so-called "reality" television that is being spoon-fed to the masses. Granted, if Battle Royale was remade as a comedy making fun of everyone who dies and in the most indignant ways possible, yes, it would be most insensitive. But from what we've been shown, it is more likely to be a serious portrait of cultural and societal possibilities that would require us to reflect on the current state of things. If anything, it would be a tribute to those tragedies, encouraging study and debate so that future events will not occur. To ignore or lessen the intensity and ramifications of these events would be an even greater tragedy with even more severe consequences than simply hurting someone's feelings.

It's a shame a shame really , Batle royal is one of my favorite film and i would never do what that fuck-head did and that movie has nothing to do with that kind of killings, it's a fiction movie.
