Hammer Films to Be Revived by John de Mol

Dutch producer John De Mol is bringing back the British horror studio Hammer Film Productions. The company released many classic horror updates during the 1950s and 60s, utilizing actors such as The Lord Of The Rings' Christopher Lee and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope' Peter Kushing.Cyrte Investments, under De Mol, has bought the rights to Hammer's entire film library. According to Variety, these include the Hammer versions of such classics as Count Dracula and His Vampire Brides, Frankenstein, and the Mummy.
Hammer Film Productions hasn't made a movie since the late 80s. With the studio on the comeback, they will start producing at least two to three movies a year. There may even be a Hammer TV series in the works.
