Another 70-year-old film made waves again on the DVD charts, but this time at the top spot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in its new Diamond Collection release topped the DVD and Blu-ray sales charts, for the week ending October 11.

The three-disc set includes both a standard DVD and a Blu-ray disc, which acconnted for its win on both the DVD and Blu-ray sales charts, although a stand-alone DVD release won't be available until late next month. The new DVD/BD edition faced little competitoin as well, with the new release Year One, which took first place in rentals but a distant third on the sales charts, as the only major new-release competitor.

Last week's all-around winner, Monsters vs. Aliens, slipped to second place on the sales and rental charts. Last week also saw the return to the charts of another 70-year-old film with Wizard of Oz's Ultimate Collector's Edition debuting in second place on the DVD and BD sales charts.
