While Sony's Screen Gems is readying another installment of a popular franchise, it's also looking ahead to reboot the franchise as well.
Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that after
Resident Evil: Afterlife, which is set for an August 27, 2010 release, the studio is looking to reboot the entire franchise.
The film is tentatively titled
Resident Evil Begins and the film was described as a "quasi-reboot."
While it's a long, long, long way off, the idea is to redo the story of a special military unit who fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.
We'll certainly keep you posted on any new details about this reboot as soon as we have more information.

The last one got silly with all of the clone Millas. It's the equivalent of Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End. They really need to do this like the original game. They kind of did that a bit, in the original movie, but there were no zombies in the mansion, and the mansion was new. In the original game, the mansion was old, dilapidated and run down, with dead zombies waiting around every corner.
Ooh. and see Hunk?
It was me the used 24 as an example, but I also know that it would never happen. Personally I hate reboots and prequels, they should just continue to make something original.
I haven't heard any news on the Gears of War movie since Comic Con. Hopefully they got the budget figured out.
24 was a terrible example don't know why anyone actually brought that up lol. Even though 24 is a great show, it has nothing to do with a "reboot". They don't really reboot shows anyway, unless they are like 10 years later like 90210 or whatever it's called.
I know people who like the Resident Evil films I cannot ever seem to understand WHY. These are the same people who hated Doom, which was exactly the same style. Bit campy, major story changes, and have sooooooo much potential to be completely bad ass. How can you fuck up a movie that has so much in it like RE?
I'd like to see a storyline in the vein of Resident Evil 5. But I guess they could change it up a tad and introduce Wesker into this film and tell you about him in flashbacks (which most films like to do nowadays). Or do the plot from the actual first game, and make a trilogy using Wesker as a repeating villian (in the 1st and maybe in the 3rd final film).
Gulliermo Del Toro posted on TOR.Net Forums, that he will be making a big announcedmnet later on today about a new project he has been working on and that it will not interact with his Hobbit production and that he has been working on it for the past 2yrs, this news was revealed yesterday, and he states the the key letter is D.
I dug some dubious research on this and right here well i don't know if anyone has figured this out.
Guillermo Del Toro is to DIRECT Doctor Strange...
People what's your opinions on Del Toro making DOCTOR STRANGE
I'm amped
But i remember one of the articles telling one of them to fuck off or something like that.
Yeah if you send him an email with your visualisation and idealisations for MGS, he sends you the documentation all neatly binded, laminated and everything and then they send you the cut scenes on eithe r a DVD-R DL Disc or DVD+R.
Its amazing though that MGS 2 is the longest Screenplay out of all the games. He sent me the screenplays for the games and a documentation documenting the themes and plots of the first MGS and prior to that, i think MGS 2 is just under 300 pages
But the movie studios dont like this because they want complete creative control
The just do whatever they like they don't take into consideration what we think to them its just a nice addition to their resume, you think they care about fans, this is literally all about money.
For once i'd love to see someone do a game to film adaptation for the passion of it and for the fans, not just for the nice big paycheque in the end.
Take a look at the first movie installment, the original screenplay was written by George Romero (The biggest name in Zombie flicks) but they turned down his faithfully adapted to the game screenplay, because it would have been rated R and not PG-13.
If you think these producers give 2 fucks about me or you or any of the other fans out there, then they wouldn't continously rape these franchises.
Romero's Resident Evil screenplay was awesome and faithfully adapted from the games and S.D.Perry's 'The Umbrella Conspiracy.'
Also to note Kojima has actually optioned MGS to anyone, if you send him an email of persuasion, he actually sends you the games screenplays and informs you how to get the FMV sequences, but he needs to proof of your screenplays before he makes his judgement on you, the only thing he asks though is that if your screenplay is successfully chosen, then yourself, him and Hayter do rewrites to perfect it
Just bring us "Afterlife."
And Leng T'che has great points.
Newkill.I have to agree with you about Milla.I saw the last one and looked like she was kinda tired of portryaing that particular character.
Diaigma I do agree with you as well. They should base it more on the games.Because now the games are getting really cool.
And i pretty much agree with anyone who thinks 24 is one hell of a show.I havent missed an episode
