For my other comment, I was really just asking Chad & Fallen what they considered foreign films. The way they were attacking them, I wasn't sure if they were only referring to foreign-language films or just all movies made overseas.
As far as foreign films are concerned, I think we are smart enough to know that just because it is an English speaking film does not mean it is American made. For example, Slumdog Millionaire is a foreign film because it is a British made film. In my opinion the thing that makes a film foreign or American is who paid for the film to be made. There are alot of American films that are made outside of America and vice versa.
I hope that wasn't directed towards me cause I will put your dog down for misbehavior lol. And btw I watched half of Sean of the Dead then for some reason never watched the rest of it. It was okay. Had one funny part that I clearly remember but that's about it. I'm not into horror films anyway, I like a few.
Thanx for the moral support AV. Some people can't handle different points of view obviously, especially the adolescent-adult types who think everyone has to think their way or it's the information highway.
Kids/family movies- America wins.
See you have to remember, I'm all about visual standards. If it doesn't look good, I'm not watching it. An example, Starship Troopers 2 lol. The movies like that with low production value make them look like a porno movie, with the same acting no less lol. That's why I stray away from independent and foreign films. What was that movie that was from Russia I do believe (could be wrong I can't remember things anymmore) and that looked alright from the trailers... Day Watch and Night Watch and so I watched them, despite the visual suckiness, and it was still lame. And those were foreign films. Not really horror, not sure what genre...maybe thriller? Anyway, and no offense to foreign films, but I'd rather not have to do subtitles the entire time. I did like Pans Lab. even though it had subtitles, but then again it was so dark and violent how could you not like it no matter what country you were from lol. I also liked Apocalypto (I cannot spell today my heck) which was American, but it had subtitles throughout. I stay away from subtitles, I mean it's alright if it's dialogue from another person in the movie but not the entire film. Since I live in America, I prefer English over other languages sorry.
That being said, if the American trillion dollar film industry is so bad, then why do most American made movies make more Internationally instead of domestically. That tells me that Americans are not the only ones interested in the films made in Amercia. For example, Quantum of Solace made $572 million world-wide with only $168 (29.4%)of it domestically. Another example, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa made $580 million with only $180 (31%) domestically. I specifically picked two movies that were not based on comic book characters.
This one particular movie did not 'prick the interest of Americans', we have always been interested in foreign film. For example, Pan's Labyrinth that won three Oscar's.
Plus, it gave me an excuse to express myself about this whole new "delete" policy
