New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes Want a Friday the 13th Sequel

Source:  Risky Business Blog
According to The Risky Business Blog, New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes are going full steam ahead on the next installment of Friday the 13th.

Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers that brought us the recent Friday the 13th reboot, are again drafting the script. The next film is being called "a follow-up."

Since the newest version took aspects of the first 4 films, the producers are finding that they don't like the other 6 sequels too much.

Marcus Nispel might be directing this new version. Jared Padalecki and Amanda Righetti might also be starring in the new film but based on their TV work schedules that remains to be seen.

At present "there is no green light" but should one happen the plan is for it be out in 2010.

ROFL!! LOL!! CHRIST! ANOTHER SEQUEL OF A SEQUEL ALREADY MADE...COME ON HOLLYWOOD STOP WASTING MONEY ON STUPID CRAP!!!

The 1st Remake/Reboot of "Friday the 13th" (2009) was goofy, & full of plot holles (Like the speed boat!)..Thank God I didn't waste moeny on it, & used a gift certificate! It was a fun film till the crappy Hollywood homage from "Carrie" (1976) at the end! Then it became just stupid! Plain and stupid! A little forgettable too. Give me the orginial!

At least the man writes his own original shit. And it is funny. Unlike these remakes where it's so easy to come up with something. And another thing about friday the 13th that bothered me is that those dumbass people still think the 'jump' scare method, still actually works. Man, that method is dead just like the franchise.

Most people hate on him on this site because... um, gee... I dunno... Oh yeah, I do... HE'S NOT FUNNY. >:(

Why do most people on this site hate Tyler Perry? I think he is very funny and Madea Goes to Jail deserved the number one spot. The movie was real funny. Also there was someone earlier this week wrote that it only got number one because of black people. That is bullshit because when I went it was so full of white people. It was so many of them the movie started 30 min late. But any way I hope there is a sequel to Friday 13th.

I'm not denying my hating on Tyler Perry. He's unfunny, and he's annoying.

Oh, and Tyler Perry, intellectual and funny? LMFAO... You MUST be kidding me.

Because it's stupid to see them magically catch up with someone who is RUNNING AWAY FROM THEM. You know? I don't mind fast zombies, if they got a good reason, but Jason and the Mummy needed to be fast. No sense in seeing something walk after a running object, and CATCHING it. If you hate the remake that much, then watch the original. Honestly, remakes aren't that bad... You people blow it all outta proportion.

Your right it doesn't matter if a movie drops after one week. But don't be hatin on Tyler Perry shit. That man makes gold. It's very funny and intellectual. Now, i thought when people say when there going to revise a movie means that there going to make one movie that makes a dead franchise look good. But this talk about the Jason sequel and this Halloween sequel shit. They'll just repeat the same mistakes. This was the worst Jason ever. Jared was the only thing keeping me into the movie. There was no real body chop ups or nothing like the other Jasons. Btw, why are they making everyone fast. First they made mummy's fast, then it was zombies, now Jason.

Just because a movie drops after a week, doesn't immediately mean it was a bad movie. If you depend upon Box Office numbers, then you'll be in for a load of shitty movies seen by people who have nothing better to do ("Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail," anyone?).

Anyway, with the end of this latest one... They'd BETTER make a sequel, you know? LMFAO!

i dont know, i wont even see the new one until it hits dvd, but im not like emotionally invested in the world of jason anyway.
it always seemed like endless sequels was part of the novelty of jason.

Yes the box office numbers dropped after the first weekend but it is still in the top ten. Not to mention it has already made over $72 million worldwide. I am still hoping that a sequel becomes a reality and Jared Padalecki & Amanda Righetti star in it.
