Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury Signs for 9 Marvel Movies!

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick FuryWhile the casting uncertainties continue to mount around certain Marvel Studios films, it seems they've locked in one actor for a very long haul. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Samuel L. Jackson has inked an unprecedented nine-picture deal with Marvel Studios to portray Nick Fury.

Jackson, who was apparently at odds with the studio over his role just weeks ago, is now locked in to appear as Fury in Iron Man 2, Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, The Avengers and those films' sequels.

The actor, who first appeared as the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Fury after the end credits of Iron Man, is said to also possibly star in a S.H.I.E.L.D. feature that is in the works.

BD, wanting to see Spider-man in an Avengers movie has to do with the suit, as LEO mentioned. Not what cartoon I watched growing up. I just said that because I would like to see Spider-man in a movie where he is not the only superhero. I hated part 3, so I'm not even considering the help he got from Harry.

I am quite the Sam Jackson fan but at the rate these movies are moving, Samuel'A Fucking Shark Ate ME!'Jackson will probably be a 95 year old cripple with alzheimers that can't even remember that he signed a contract before all is said and done.

Awesome! Sam Jackson is my favorite actor, so this is extremely good news.

It's all about making money, and that's what Spidey and Wolvie do. I like to see second-rate heroes get the spotlight, though. Brian Bendis, while having Spidey and Wolvie in New Avengers, has also made Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, and the Sentry popular characters in the Marvel U

yeah def spider-man and wolverine, i mean they rn't bad characters they r just in everything. Wolverine is in like 6 on going titles that are all supposed to be happenin now in actual 616 continuity.

yeah i think it is cool that Fury is gunna make some sort of appearance in 9 different Marvel movies, it adds alot to the idea that they r in one universe.

So you were referring to Spider-Man when you said "overused?" I thought you meant Fury...for some reason ha

Agent Viz, i know bout the Ultimate Universe and the 616 and the main differences, and even if we r talkin bout the Ultimate then Spider-man hasn't ever been part of the Ultimates (the equivilant to the Avengers). And all i'm sayin is that he is an over used character anyway so there is no need to include him in the Avengers movie. Plus Marvel doesn't own the rights still so it won't happen.

side not i hope that the Avengers movie is basically Ultimates 2

Marvel is dominating the Box Office. Now that Samuel L. Jackson is one of the biggest actors to join the entire series of Marvel Films, they may be able to make up a few films including Daredevil, X-Men III, Spider-Man 3, etc. I'm not to eager over Thor, but the Captain America title is too long. Hopefully Iron Man II will be better with Don Cheadle. Sam Jackson is a good actor, a little over the top once in a while.

If they make a sequel to the 2008 Punisher film, they should have Nick Fury play a major role in it.

Lord Epsilon, tell everybody to go pick up the latest issue of "Avengers the Initiative" so they can see a whole army of clones wearing that cool Avenger-Spidey suit.

My dream of watching my favorite Marvel charachter on screen sadly came as nightmare in the Fantastic Four movies: Doctor Doom. Very badly approached...

Well, TheBD, you do make a point. Some unnoticed marvel heroes do need a chance to shine, like ant-man, war wasp, moon knight, etc. In fact, those three additions to the Avengers movie would be amazing.

But the only reason why I want Spider-Man to be in it is because I'm a spidey fan (yes, I am cliche as to who my favorite marvel hero is), and I want to see his Avenger Suit made for him by Tony Stark. My whole life I've grown up with people going "Oh my God! The Symbiote is Spidey's coolest suit evar!" And I always respond, "Yes, it is cool, but have you seen the Avenger Suit?" And it never fails. They always ask, "What's that?"

So my primary objective to see Spider-Man in The Avengers is only for the purpose of pointing it out and say to those people, "See?! That's what I told you about! Now do you understand?!" LOLOLOLOL XD

BD: from the looks of things, they're taking concepts from both the regular Marvel U and its Ultimate counterpart. Ultimate Marvel is a parallel version of the Ultimate universe...fresh takes on classic characters. In the Ultimate universe, Nick Fury and SHIELD are responsible for creating the Ultimates(the ultimate version of the Avengers)...they even based Ultimate Fury off off of Sam Jackson. See the pic that goes along with the thread above? That's from The Ultimates.

So much bullshit comes up on the internet... I knew there was no way Marvel would be dumb (or brave) enough to say no to SLJ in the face! And to everyone that doesn't know about comics, ask if you don't know, or spare us of your ignorance... lol!

that doesn't make sense, i get that u grew up watchin spider-man and friends but he wasn't an avenger until the last few years. so y put him in the avengers movie? i think him and wolverine r whored out enough, let some other characters have some time to shine.

Sam's the man! I was angry when I found out that Terrence wasn't coming back. At least they made sure Sam wasn't going anywhere.

I'm part of the generation who grew up watching Spider-Man and Friends (with Firestar and Iceman) on Saturday mornings. So I agree with LEO. Seeing Spider-Man involved somehow would be great.

Indeed, he is. But I love the tension between Nick Fury, Wolverine and Iron Man. It's bloody hilarious! XD

This is the ultimate proof that Marvel Crossovers have begun. It started with Dr. Strange being mentioned in Spider-Man 2, then it went to a Nick Fury cameo in Iron Man, then a Tony Stark cameo in The Incredible Hulk, and now it has evolved into Nick Fury appearing in 9 more movies.

The delightful fact is, The Avengers will be the cherry on top. The ultimate movie to officially give glory to the Marvel Universe.

And I'm still sending my hopes to the heavens that Spider-Man will be in The Avengers, with his best suit of all time. Spider-Man's Avenger Suit. :-P
