Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Shatters Wednesday Box Office Record with $60.6 Million

Source:  The Hollywood Reporter
A blockbuster sequel only needed one day to enter the record books this week. According to Variety, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen broke the single-day Wednesday box office record with $60.6 million.

The Wednesday haul destroyed the previous record of $44.2 million, which was set in 2007 with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The film is playing in more than 4,200 theaters and $16 million of the film's first-day take were from midnight screenings.

Box office analysts predict that the sequel's five-day haul to be somewhere between $150 and $170 million.

The only characters we really care about are Optimus, BB, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave. Everyone else is just background music.

the story line was weak... acting was lame. directing was gone to shit..if you are going to watch it..try to count how many times the camera circles something to try anc "capture" the moment...

its a michaeal bay/jerry bruckheimer film so you can expect the 'bad' human...

and did sam go to robot heaven?

what the fuck!!

the problem i had with this movie was the character development of the new robots and the mindless humor. instead of dogs humping, they should have had character development of the new autobots. I can't believe bay got paid 75 mil. for this frat boy humor film.

the only knew robot worth having character development was the Fallen, and they did it. the other robots werent needed, its basically Bumblebee, Optimus, Megatron and Starscream that are the badasses and main robots in the movie so yeah. and there were more decepticons than autobots cuz like the show, the good guys would win and kill the bad guys and of course there would need to be more bad guys to come and fight to continue on the show.

I enjoyed the movie and will see it again this weekend with some friends. I do agree that it was hard to keep track of all the robots. Hell it seemed like there was 10 constructicons. But I expected it to be all out action and it was.

the only way for us, to know who the robots were, was by them saying their own name (jetfire, wheelie, soundwave) or by us guessing, or another human/robot sayin their name (which is the best way)..."Soundwave acknowledges" like come on, i wanted to see that fuker stop playing with his tentacles on the satellite and come down to earth.....the third in 2012 will have him fighting for sure, i guess we can all speculate, who else will be in it, and GM once again will advertise their ugly ass vehicles (except for 2)

i agree with ALNK2 character developement was the only thing i didn't like about the movie, so many things happening at one time that you dont get to actually know any of the robots, you just get to know sam and his family and the amazingly hot makayla (megan fox)

character development was the biggest problem in my mind with this movie. too much sam and not enought of the autobots and decepticons. the jokes were a little too much but overall it was a good movie.

it surprises me how people compare this movie with spider-man 3, spider-man 3 was one of the worst movies ever....it ruined one of the most awesome villains of the story(Venom).....whereas ROTF gave exactly what it promised.....a non-stop, special effects, action extravaganza.....which is what summer is all about....:)

once the reviews of the general population kick in, of the mediocre of the film, they will realize their predications might not last.....why is Hangover donig amazingly well?? people talk and people listen, i liked Transformers and will see it on regular theatre tomorrow again instead of the IMAX, but this week it will make its $170-$200 million but once Harry Potter comes out they lucky to get $20 million that three day weekend (being out of three weeks at that point)

and those predictions don't even make sense, it made 60 mil in one day, a wednesday, they don't think Friday or Saturday, the normally most busy days, r goin to do equal if not bigger numbers? plus then there is still thursday and sunday. i can see it hitting 200 mil maybe.

while it was better then wolverine, i still don't think it was that good. the twins were god awful and extremely offensive. and Deadpool was a character b4 the wolverine movie, so u point there is kinda invalid.

and i may not agree with Newkill often, but by god i think he's on to something.

then again they get that money because there is a good fan base and spread of word about the movies. and the second one is better than the first even though the first one is a classic cuz of course it started the whole thing. im gonna try to write a review if i can. i wanna see public enemies as well. looks good.

Why is that the two shit talkers both have (had) a default picture of Deadpool when the Wolverine movie was so flawed? Transformers 2 was 8x better than Wolverine and I love Wolverine so. You guys need to work on your perceptions.
