Ain't It Cool News has reported that director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) has quit the Law Abiding Citizen production. There is no word on who will replace him.

Gerard Butler will star as a successful assistant D.A. who finds himself at the center of a vigilante plot hatched by a traumatized victim of the legal system, played by Jamie Foxx.

Law Abiding Citizen is set to hit theaters in 2009.
