Batman's Commissioner Gordon, Pat Hingle, Dies at Age 84

Source:  The Press Association
Pat Hingle, known to many for his appearance in the 1990s Batman series of films as Commissioner Gordon, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2008 following a long battle with blood cancer. The Press Association reports that Hingle, 84, passed away in his home in Carolina Beach.

A family spokesperson says that Hingle had been diagnosed with myelodysplasia in November 2006. Hingle had lived in Carolina Beach since 1986. He settled in the town in North Carolina after completing filming of Maximum Overdrive.

Hingle's career in film and television spanned six decades, and in that time he received a Tony Award nomination in 1958. Hingle's last film appearance was in 2006's Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

yah, Eartha Kitt played catwomen in the old 60's Version of Batman. RIP Eartha.

RIP.

2008 really WAS a terrible year for actors. I'm mad, though, that they haven't posted anything on here about Eartha Kitt's passing.

2008 was an extremely bad year for celebrity deaths. Even more shocking was that many of those deaths belonged to celebrities who were still in their prime and I would never think their time was up. However, as the actors we have come to love get older, we should be prepared for some shockers in 2009.

One person I would like to hear from is Michael Gough, who played Alfred in the Burton-Schumacher series, and he's still kicking at 95, God bless him.

Yeah i heard the same thing apparently he had a seizsure in the bathroom and preferably smashed his head on the sink or bath, well so i've heard on the news and papers.
I never actually knew Travolta was a scientoligist until yesterday, i knew Cruise was one.

But has anyone else notice the pattern that bang at the beginning of the year a celebrity dies.
This year, Jett & Pat, Last year was Ledger

That's right J.A., I don't think MW has wrote an article about Jett Travolta...they should. It's gotta be gut wrenching knowing their religion pushed away medication that could have helped their son...Scientology's a bitch. But, maybe the medication only would have prolonged the inevitable, idk the specifics. Supposedly he had a seizure? R.I.P Jett, also

OMG this is so weird, nah this is awkward. I watched Talladega Nights on Saturday as well.
That's just weird, watching the last performance of a man the same day he dies.

R.I.P
Both Pat Hingle & Jett Travolta
