The Office has added a new cast member in Linda Purl, who you may remember as Andy Griffith's daughter on Matlock. According to The Ausiello Files, the seasoned actress will be playing the coveted role of Pam's mom on the popular sitcom.

Purl will make her debut next month during the long awaited nuptials between Jim and Pam. Shannon Cochran originally played Pam's mother for a brief moment in season two. There is no word on how many episodes Purl will appear in.

The Office returns this fall on Thursday, September 17th, only on NBC.
