20th Century Fox Is Rebooting Fantastic FourCentury Fox is looking to develop a third installment in the Fantastic Four franchise.

According to Variety, Akiva Goldsman has been hired to oversee the reboot as producer. Michael Green will write the script for the new Fantastic Four.

The 2005 Fantastic Four and 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer were directed by Tim Story and starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. Since the deals for the reboot are just getting made, it is unclear if any of them will return.

I think your cast is pretty good Agent except for Shia. He would be too...yeah. I like him but not for that part. And Anton? I should have thought of that. but he is not tall enough. Lol. Idk.

And J.A. I'm not saying the movie needs a chase scene. I am simply saying the action would be great with James directing.

I said they were rough choices at the top of my head. I wasn't really into giving a cast list, just what it should be modeled after(Ultimate FF).

But I really don't see what's wrong with Shia. He's a great actor. The only problem is, as J.A. said, he'd be pricey. I said Bell because I couldn't think of another young blonde actress that fits the profile. I'm not even sold on my own pick for Doom, but Hirsch is an up and coming actor, so maybe. The one I'm completely sold on though is Yelchin as Reed. He'd be great.

I mostly said Forster because I wanted to be original besides your Michael Bays or J.J. Abrams.' lol

Ahhh, you see Agent there is your flaw, if you have such a great understanding of what this reboot should be.

I definately agree that it should follow the Ultimate FF saga, because the characters are more developed, i've only read a few comics from the normal FF and Ultimate FF.

But to the flaws of your choice

Shia Lebeouf, seriously mate thats a shit load of you budget gone already.

Joss Whedon, is good at developing characters within a comic and a TV series franchise, its a massive shame he aint as good as doing it when it comes to film screenplays...His best film screenplay is Toy Story
The drafts that he did for some films were about as useless and crappy as the finished products.

Marc Foster as a director, would be perfect if you were making an all out mindlessly plotted action film...
But i'd think your agree that F4 reboot needs to be more in the direction of a hardcore sci-fi superhero action flick.
I've noticed that with Forster, he is only great at one genre films.
He finds it difficult tackling multiple genre films, and he really doesn't bring out the emotions to the characters very well, exceot in drama's.

But that's input, i do give you kudos though for thinking up someone else for Mr Fantastic other than Ioan Grufford

with the right SCRIPT, of course.

Allan Heinberg or Joss Whedon can write that SCRIPT.

God, MW needs to fix that.

Marc Forster(Quantum of Solace).

I wasn't fond of QoS, but because it wasn't in the same league as Casino Royale. He dropped World War Z so he doesn't have anything going on right now. I think he could make a mature sci-fi adventure just as Martin Campbell(Royale) is doing Green Lantern...with the right , of course.

Allan Heinberg or Joss Whedon can write that . Heinberg has experience writing young adults and teenagers both for TV and comics with the O.C. and Young Avengers. Whedon because he's experienced in on-screen sci-fi and I know he can write superheroes after reading his amazing Astonishing X-Men run.

I'm not an FF expert, I just know enough about them to not make dumb comments. I mean, you thought Reed and Sue were related. Why would I take your choices seriously? That's basic FF stuff.

CCoBB actually required make up and SFX because that was the point of the movie. The guy was aging backwards, what do you think they're gonna do? Hire a different actor for each age generation he goes through? To even compare that to casting a super hero who could very easily be cast young is just stupid.

I've said this before but I think the reboot should go for an Ultimate FF feel. I say that because it establishes the characters' relationships(Reed, Sue, Johnny, Ben, and Victor) as teenagers so when they get their powers in, I'm gonna say...their early 20s, their pasts have been made clear. The origin makes more sense(teleportation is used instead of just space travel, so we'd get the actual N-Zone instead of just some space cloud). It's fun, it's sci-fi, and it's smart(at least when I read it it was...I stopped reading it around the 3rd year).

Under those circumstances, the actors should be in their 20s, and 30s if they can pass as 20-something year olds. I wasn't going to do this, but since you asked I'll say Anton Yelchin could make a pretty convincing Reed if they cut his hair and put glasses on him. Maybe Kristen Bell as Sue and Shia LeBeouf as Johnny. I got nothing for Ben. As for Doom, I'll say Emile Hirsch. Those are just rough choices at the top of my head, but it gives you an idea. Quite frankly, I don't need a cast list to prove I have a better understanding of what this reboot should be.

Make up and SFX, can do pure amazement these days, Agent.

You must have seen Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, right?

But since your kinda the FF character expert, i'm intrigued...
let's hear your casting decisions

Bradley Cooper is too old.

You obviously don't know much about the characters.

I agree to that Doom is more than just a voice, obviously i am aware of that.
Hugo Weaving is a brilliant actor and as Raven stated, Hugo does act like Doom and also he has a brilliant voice, he has a voice that is memorable. A character that your never see but you still know that its him, like Weaving in V for Vendetta...Keifer Sutherland in Phone booth and Jeremy Irons as Scar and Die Hard 3.

He has the perfect voice to fit behind an idetity and plus his a certified villianous badass, what more could you ask for.

Nah, Fallen after i posted it, i though Cooper would more fit the role of the human torch, so Ryan was scrapped.
Also to note that the freeway chase scene was one of the best scenes with the matrix franchise, i never knew he directed that action sequence, i knew he was an A.D, as he always has been with the Wachowski's.
Best scene though was the first fight with the agent in Matrix one, then that amazing freeway scene.
Kudos to Mcteigue.

But does a FF film really need a freeway chase sequence?

and well Mcteigue uses big budget, Blomkamp has shown he can do pure amazement with sci-fi on a small budget...
Think about it in that perspective

Lol. Well first off I am with the Agent on the they shouldn't look elated thing. Lol. And yeah, that's true J.A. but McTeigue is a great director, and he did the highway (or was it freeway) scene in the Matrix Reloaded. One of THE best action scenes to date. Tell me that wouldn't look kick ass in a FF movie. Huh, huh?

Oh, and Ryan Reynolds? Your joking right? After all the comic publicity he's getting, I better hope your joking. Haha.

Dr. Doom is more than just a voice. Weaving would be better suited for someone like Mysterio in a Spider-Man movie, who's only menacing quality is, I'm assuming, his voice(unless they make it more like the new Ultimate Comics Mysterio, who has set himself up as a premier badass). Just saying.

for a thought their,Hugo Weaving might be Doom, after all he kinda acts and looks the part.

September 9th, 2009 11:21am
Come to think of it, Jessica Alba wasn't the best in the first two. The story lines were weak for both films, which is mainly the fault, but I do agree Hugo would be a better choice for DR.Doom.

I think Miller would end up messing it up fallen, the ideas he had for Justice League were pretty silly and it proved he literally has no place in the comic to film adaptation and Mcteigue...
His had a hit with V for Vendetta, but his usually assisstant director preferably on a Wachowski set, and well Ninja Assassin aint looking all that top notch for a 2nd directorial feature.

Blomkamp is pretty impressive, District 9 was out of this world to me and if that is what Neil can do on a 30 mil budget, imagine what he could do with a budget that F4 will be scaled on approx 80 - 120 million.

Also my dibs for Invisible Woman is Kate Beckingsale and keep Ioan Grufford as Mr Fantastic, the 2 could be passed off related as well, the only thing i would state is make Invisible woman a brunette and black haired, but i don't know how fans would react to that.
Keep Chikis as Thing though but if he was to be replaced then Ron Pearlman.
And erm Human torch, well i liked Evans but i'd go either Ryan Reynolds due to the cocky attitude or Bradley Cooper is another awesome choice so yeah in order

Mr Fantastic - Ioan Grufford

Invisible Woman - Kate Beckingsale

The Thing - Michael Chikis or Ron Pearlman

Human Torch - Ryan Reynolds or Bradley Cooper

Von Doom - Hugo Weaving

Director - Neil Blomkamp (Len Wiseman might do justice too)

Oh I forgot director. First off: Neil Blomkamp?? No way in hell would he do that. And Louis is busy with Clash of the Titans. Sorry man. For director, I would have to go with either James McTeigue, George Miller (back from his younger days), or an up and coming guy who loves the industry and the comics equally.

ok,Fallen tell me which director would u choose for the reboot?

September 8th, 2009 11:51am
Okay, I can;t take this. Raven, I usually agree with you, but I have to step in! Scarlett is Black Widow in Iron Man 2. they won't put her as the Invisible Woman. The only reason it worked for Ryan, was because Hannibal King wasn't too noticeable as a Marvel character and they were spaced between years of time before Origins.

Next off: Hugo Weaving is perfect! Which is why I suggested him. J.A. pretty much said it for me.

Next off: Hayden Chistenson?!? You have to choose people who look related. Which is why I chose Kristen Bell and Garret Headlund. They actually look like they can be related.

Mister Fantastic, the guy who played him was cool and all, but someone better is out there. But that's not an error, cuz I couldn't find anyone else either. So I'm stumped for now there.

All right..my work here is done. Thank you.

J.A took mine!!

September 7th, 2009 6:47pm
Dude are you telling me you can't visualise that as cliche as it is due to Weaving's memorable voice.

Doom needs to be a bad ass scientist...Issacs can be a scientist or a corrupt politicianor a gangster.
But he doesn't come off as a bad ass.

Actually Viktor Von Doom = Hugo Weaving
(sorry that cast decision is perfect) lol

September 6th, 2009 7:29pm
if they really want to make a reboot, heres how they should do it:
1}The Cast:
Ioan Gruffudd-Mr.Fantastic{sorry :(,could not find a better one}

Scarlett Johnson-Invisible Woman{Alba was awful,this is sooo better}

The Thing-should be in CGI and to be voiced by Ron Perlman{>XD hell yea!}.

Hayden Christinsen-Johnny Storm Human Torch{he kinda looks the part}

Jason Issacs-Viktor Von Doom{he truly nails it,fuck Karl Urban}

Director for reboot-Louis Leterrier or Neil Blomkamp could have a strong potential.

Why are they calling it a reboot? I saw the first one and didn't care for it, but haven't seen the sequel, but heard it was far better. Is it just because they didn't meet the 2yrs apart thing? Cuz typically it's 3yrs. No I know that's not it. But seriously, just cuz a deal for a trilogy isn't ironed out to begin with doesn't mean that ironing out new deals equals a reboot. Does anybody know what's up with this? Or is it just a bad choice of words?
