Carice Van Houten Cast in Bryan Singer's Valkyrie

Bryan Singer likes Paul Verhoeven's casting decisions so much, he's decided to take a cue from the director and cast Black Book's Carice van Houten in his own movie. According to Nu, the German actress will be appearing alongside Tom Cruise in Valkyrie.

The film revolves around a German general's plan to snuff out Adolph Hitler at the height of World War II. Apparently, it is based on fact. Just like the film Surf's Up was.

Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Patrick Wilson, Stephen Fry and Tom Wilkinson also star in Valkyrie. The film will begin shooting this July in Berlin. Look for it to hit theaters sometime in 2008.
